when you're done cleaning
and washing all the dishes
bring me a cold beer

You were very lucky to only get the finger, so be grateful The beer wasn't poured over your head

Well done and congratulations. Mary

Thank you Mary and you're right, I'm lucky to still be alive (ha). Seriously though, my wife and I have been together for 46 years and I haven't had a beer in years. This was "Just For Fun." Have a nice day Mary. Bill

Instantly a big smile come to my face... You have made good use of every syllable in this comical little scenario in which words weren't needed to make the point.
GREAT!!

Your request for a cold beer is nothing compared to her cleaning and washing chores. But depending on what or how much you tip, take her sign language response as a "loving gesture." It's almost like saying, "Consider it done, dear F--- you." If all went smoothly and the sly humor is there, then you accomplished something.

While i am still thinking about the message of your work, one thing comes to my mind - sincerity amid adversity. Nice read though. That, and I'm still wondering - how many macho guys can do this?

Thanks Dennis for your thoughts. To answer your last question, in my opinion, in this modern world of today I don't think very many men would have the balls to do this. 30 or 40 years ago, this was just routine stuff. Have a good day. Bill

Hello Cedar,
Well said! In a few well chosen words you said a mouthful and more. The picture tops off your poem like whipped cream and a cherry top off a sundae. Great work. Thanks for the smile! Congratulations on you win.
Warm regards, W ^-^

Literally speaking, it is usually the woman of the house who had to triple up as a wife, a mother and an employee. If house chores are included - that is not unexpected but to be treated as very loving and caring maid is more than any hubby could ask for. But be careful what we men asked for. Instead of a beer, it could be a flying frying pan. Give her a break and in return we do the break dance and drive away all her blues.
The Federal will consider that a good barter, right? Smiles.
Very well written in a hoot - the signature of Cedar known to all of us here, smiles.
Congrats on the contest win/
Cheerio, Ritchie. :))
Have a great day!

Thank you Ritchie for your very excellent review, I appreciate your nice comments. You make several good points. I'm sure there's a lot of men out there in our world that still take advantage of their wives. But, in this modern world of today, most women would not allow this to happen. Take care my friend and have a great day also. Cheerio, Bill.

Congratulations on your win. I hope she brought you a towel after she poured the cold beer over your head. Next time give her a bigger tip.

This work has reached the exceptional level

A nice write showing how he is ordering his wife like most men do.He does't help her one bit with her household chores yet expects her to finish her work and then cater to his needs.
A lovely write, very realistic.A lot has been said in this short poem. THe picture and title are both good.I enjoyed reading this write of yours and hence would recommend it to evryone

Thank you my friend for your very kind words, I appreciate it. I'm glad that you enjoyed it. I agree with you that the poem is true and that the husband never helps his wife, but he expects her to do whatever he asks for. Thank you for great rating. May God bless you and your family. Bill
