I stand and applaud you for this delightful and perfectly penned children's story. I'm still smiling at the cute characters you've created. I wish I could draw!

This is such a sweet work, Sandra. Don't worry about illustrations. If you find a publisher they will assign an illustrator. I have a children's book I'm just finishing, not a rhyming one, but it will rely heavily on good illustrations as well. You have such a gentle way with your writing. I really enjoy it. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you, Sophia, that is so encouraging, I wish you lot of luck with your book, is it on FanStory? I would love to read it, if it is. As this is the first time I have shown my work to anyone other than family and friends, I have no idea how to go on from here. Thank you again for such a wonderfull review. xsx

You are very welcome. I just released "the Lonley Moon" I would love to hear what you think. I am asking for input for a new title. I am hoping to submit the manuscript soon, but I am not happy with the title. I like writing for my grandchildren, too. But your work is definitely ready for prime time! :)

I's under stand alone stories. Children, sorry. I should have put it under books but since it doesn't have chapters I chose stories. I'm new here...I'll get better, lol.

This is a great rhyme for kids and I hope that you find an illustrator and realise your dream.
There should be an apostrophe in - At Cyril the squirrel's.
thanks for sharing. Jennie

This is a fun poem for children (and the adults who to read to them) to read. I like how the story evolves. You also give it a sense of place. It reminds me of the Beatrix Potter stories.

Thank you, litroc, I know childrens books are hard, I have several grand children who are my best critics, in a strange sort of way! Thank you for the very thoughtful review. xsx
Comment from Mike Momba
The story is easy to follow. it has an easy flow.
I like the structure with its well spaced paragraghs. I liked the start expecting fire works later on. i did not expect it would culminate into chicken pox.

Chicken pox? Yikes! Oh how they spread so fast. It's a very good children's story that takes a common childhood occurrence and makes it funny. Well done.
