This is another moment when the Lord shows all of us that Miracles Are Possible. Being able to write the poem and put your feelings on paper was a gift for you as well, and I hope a healing one. I believe in prayers, and their healing power and everyone on FS is praying for you and Wayne. Thank heavens for the boys and their quick thinking. My thoughts and prayers are always with you.
Hugs and love, Carol

    Hi Carol,
Thank you so much for being a great support during all of this. I know you are praying and that means a lot as well.

I'll admit, I struggled with the poem. I'm much better at prose, but it did make me feel better when it was finished.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
    Much love,
    Rhonda

Rhona, how frightening for Wayne and you. It sounds like a miracle he was able to stop the tractor and get a message out that he needed help. I've prayed since yesterday when I saw Debi poem about what happened. It is amazing that it is working out, It may be a wakeup call to give up the nicotine, I will pray the craving will leave him and he will continue to heal.

    Hi Beth,
Thank you so much for the six stars and for the review! I believe it was a miracle, too. His sons were trying to figure out how he had the presence of mind, and physical ability, to stop that big tractor being that he was in the middle of a stroke.

But, like the generational farmers they are, they reacted methodically and dispassionately as they got help. They fell apart after the helicopter took off, lol.
    Thank you for your prayers,
    Hugs,
    Rhonda

Hi Rhonda,

Your poem is wonderfully explanatory of the day's events surrounding your husband's stroke. I live in Arlington outside Dallas and so am a fellow Texan. I am so glad Wayne's sons were quick thinking to get a helicopter to the pasture in time to deliver your husband to the hospital in time. We will all keep your whole family in our daily prayers. God bless and tell Wayne to keep on fighting back...

Take care,
Senyai

Oh wow, I graduated from UTA, and my son lived in Arlington for quite some time (also graduated from UTA). Hail fellow Texan!!

Thank you for the kind review. Wayne's sons had just forced their dad into the Ap that would save his life, or at least the function of his body. Once he managed to send a text, a miracle in itself, Mike was able to find his location out in the pasture.
Thank you so much for your prayers! I believe they delivered miracle after miracle in this place.
    Hugs,
    Rhonda

Oh my! Thank you fellow Texan. Yes, UTA played a big part our family's education as well. It has grown so much over the years. We are praying for you and Wayne and your entire family, Rhonda. Strokes are nothing to fool around with! So glad the EMT got to Wayne in time. These apps on our cell phones are time saving and lifesaving. All the best to you all.

I had never seen the App before the boys put it on our phones. I don't spend a lot of time looking at it, but occasionally when I want to know if they are on their way, like to the hospital, I can check.

    Hugs,
    Rhonda

Oh Rhonda, I'm so sorry for all this going on. It has got to be terrifying. I'm praying with you for healing for your husband and feeling the Lord's presence for both of you.
I'm glad you were able to write the poem and express yourself while telling the story.
Thank you for sharing,
Julie

    Hi Julie,
Thank you so much for the kind review!! Thank you for your prayers. The Lord, definitely, hears. He spared Wayne and restored so much. He told the pastor's widow that he thought about his uncle, Jerry, who lived 15 years after a massive stroke and was not able to walk or talk. He said as he was about to undergo the procedure, he decided he wasn't going to be like Jerry, and he's not. Trust me, he can talk, lol. and he's walking around and getting out of bed when he's not supposed to. He's still determined not to let this define him.

    Hugs,
    Rhonda

    Hi Dolly,
Thank you so much for the sweet review. He is doing much better. He spoke very little except to respond to direct questions, and would keep repeating words and phrases over and over. So, when Pastor Glenn's widow came in and he just started flowing with the details of what happened, I was shocked, and so wished for my phone to be on me to record what he was saying. The boys (two very grown and big boys) have puzzled over how he was able to stop that tractor before it submerged in water. To hear it from his lips was chilling and beautiful. Putting it into poetry was a challenge, but worth it for posterity.
    Love,
    Rhonda

Charles, thank you for your prayers. Only the prayers of God's saints could have brought him this far. Watching him get up and walk, listening to him speak clearly, is a great reminder of God listening to all of the prayers going up.
Thank you, as well, for the golden stars, and for the blessings,
    Rhonda

I can imagine how hard it was to write this poem. His son getting help so quickly and having a knowledge where he was are probably the main reason it sounds as if he is healing quickly. He may have some trouble with nightmares for awhile. When my husband had a ladder slide out from under him when he was working on the church roof, he drove himself home with a shattered foot, broken back and bad shock. He fell out of the truck, I dragged him into my car, and drove him back to town. It's been a year, and he still has bad dreams so don't expect that to go away too soon.

    Oh wow, Carol,
What a story you have of your own. I'm amazed at both of you!!

Thank you for the six stars and review. I'd love to see your story written as well. What news to share!!

Yes, on the nightmares. Wayne keeps repeating phrases over and over, when he's not lucid. At first that's all he was doing, now he only does it occasionally, but what he says were things he was saying to Mike and Brian (his other son that got there a little after Mike).

He just kept/keeps saying is Help me, I need to get up. I need help. We know he has to be reliving the experience. He's on autopilot crying out for what he needed while on the tractor. The good thing is, he didn't switch it off, so he was still in air conditioning. It's still really hot in Texas right now.

I'm with you, he'll probably have nightmares for a long time over this. I know Mike will. He was the first on the scene and had to get is dad, not a small man, down out of that tall tractor.

Thanks again, dear friend, and I'm sorry for what happened to your husband as well. That had to be terrifying, and then driving himself to town in the condition he was in was a miracle as well.

Thanks so much for this herculean effort to write this when you have so much going on. Yes, I'm praying and am amazed at how many miracles God has done for you and your family. He really loves you!

LORD, we ask because You are the great and perfect Healer. Please heal Wayne inside and out and every cell that needs to repair and every nerve so that he would fully regain full function. Also, we ask that the nicotine will lose its power over him and he would desire it no more. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

    Amen, Helen, amen!!
I know you've been praying since you first heard, probably before if I know you. I appreciate it and the one you wrote in here. That was beautiful. I'm going to copy it so I can keep speaking it over him.

Since Debi has this book, I'm going to be giving her updates so I don't lose track on who I've told what to, lol. I've had to do that with church as well. But, I will say prayer definitely works, and miracles have been happening all over the place these past few days!!
    Hugs,
    Rhonda
