And rightly so! After all it is only a number right. Very wise words. I hope you had the best day got spoilt rotten!
I think we tend to go through different stages, for me I hated turning 30 and 5 years ago when I turned 40 it didn't bother me one bit! I wonder what hitting 50 will bring lol!
Best Wishes

Yes, Nicki, you knew how bad it was and look what you did for me.
I was so worried about this birthday, but then after all the lovely poems and stories that were written for me on my birthday, I thought how can you feel down when there are so many people showing love.
So thank you, my wonderful friend for your most kind words and I feel even better than I have in a long time. spiritually about 22 again. Thanks again for your lovely poem.
Love, Debi

Debi, we feel down sometimes and the important things is that we get right back up again, and that's when we surround ourselves with the right people. What I do is I always say there's always someone out there worse than me and it helps pick myself up. But in saying that we are only human at the end of the day and sometimes no matter how bid or small things can get on top of us! And we have to navigate through those feeling too! Hugs, Nicki xxx

Oh, hon, I didn't mean to make it sound like it's that bad, but it was just that the number 70 bothered me, but truth be told I write poems called Bright Side poems where it will tell about things that go wrong in life and then I will say, But on the Bright Side,......... So I am known for being a positive person and although they call me the bionic woman (my drs) because my lupus has claimed so much from me, I try to always stay up. Funny you should say that about someone always has it worse. My mother always said that, even on her death bed so that is one of my sayings too. No, you don't have to worry about me. That was just something that I dreaded but I tried to show how much love makes a difference in all of us. You are also getting that recognition too for being an up person since you have been here. I love that. Your sweetness shines through.
Thank you for caring. I just love you to pieces. After all I think you are the same age as one of my kids. HUGS!

LOL, Debi, that is certainly a great way to look at it. There is also the corollary to that. There ain't a dang thing you can do about it anyway. So, its good you are kicking back...and still kicking it!

There was a very rare sighting of a special fanstorian this day. But he only stayed around long enough for two reviews and I was lucky enough to be one of them. Or should I say blessed? So thank you my dearest of friends for this awesome review and comments. It means the world to me.

Debi, This is a very well written poem about aging. Every day when I awake, I thank God for one more day He has given me to do His will. Some were not that blessed. Age is just a number, and God is so good to us. I don't look young and cute anymore, but I do look like the Lord wants me to look. A thankful child of God. Just remember who you belong to Debi. That should make you feel good regardless of age! love and blessings, Teri

Teri, my apologies for this being so late. I was with my family for a couple days and then friends, dr appts, as I am still doctoring for being blind in that eye, I was tutoring my grandson, Andrew in college English all week and couldn't get caught up with anything. My birthday mostly set me back.
But please know I read every review when it comes in as it is the highlight to my day.
I was so worried about this birthday, but then after all the lovely poems and stories that were written for me on my birthday, I thought how can you feel down when there are so many people showing love. Thank you also for the six stars for this one.
And thank you again, my wonderful friend for your most kind words and I feel even better than I have in a long time.

Jacob, you are one of the sweetest guys here and I don't know what we would do without your kindness, warmth and youth in this family.
You are so awesome and I will be looking forward to that poem.
My birthday was super-awesome and everyone made me feel so special today. Somehow I truly needed it.
Thanks for all the kind words for my poem and for my birthday. You are truly the best! Love, Debi

I'm glad you had a special birthday. You deserved the nice treatment after doing it for so many all year long. Age is a gift that many people don't live to see. It's something I need to work on accepting as well. Have a great day.

It is a lovely tribute to friends and a great philosophy on aging. So many lines are poignant, but I particularly like the final line, which sums it up. "For now on my life I will live, And not think about age at all." gayla

Debi,
This is an excellent poem. I like the way it flows and and ends. It sums up what a lot of us feel when being met with milestone birthdays, 40, 50, 60. I think those milestones make us take a deep look at ourselves. Fear not, God is on our side. I believe we are all born with a expiration date and when God wants us home he will call us.

Hi Cecilia, first of all I want to welcome you to FanStory where I am sure that you will be loving it here as much as the rest of this big world wide family. And I also want to apologize for this taking so long. I have a few reasons but I will not try to explain now, but just know that I read all reviews right away and I appreciate them so much. Also thanks for the generous six stars.

You are so welcome. I love this place I have had so much support from other writers in my short 5 or 6 days on this platform. Happy belated birthday I just had the big 62 on the 21st. Hope you had an awesome one.

Are you aware of my biographical tributes for birthdays? You wouldn't' have to look far in my portfolio to find one as they are most of what I do. They are my way of saying I can't always review and I get behind on answering but check one out and if you like them I could do you a belated birthday and everyone could get to know you and it helps to get more fans and reviews. I am not trying to drum up business by any means as I have a lot of them going right now, but I could squeeze you in somewhere and I could get to know you better too. And by the way, happy birthday to you. Let me know!
-
No I'm not aware of your biographical birthday tributes and yes I would be very interested if you could squeeze me in.

I will come over and fan you right now and then maybe you can do the same so you will know when I post on the 26th that will be one. I will be in touch as I will have one for you within the week. But in the meantime could you send me a little info about yourself. Where you are from, family members, career or job, hobbies and anything else you would like to share. They are great way for people to get to know you. Everyone loves them.
I am not bragging, but going by what all have told me.

You're forgetting each day you bless our day by just being a part of it. I am truly blessed by knowing you. You always bring joy and happiness to me, as I am sure you do others.

Debi...
Your poem is perfect. Especially the last two lines:
For now on my life I will live
And not think about age at all
Hope your birthday was just like you, blessed and beautiful!
I owe you a birthday dinner post. What would you like me to prepare? You name it.
Enjoy the day and your beginnings of a new year!
Love ya.

Oh no, John, I got so backed up that I missed this. Oh please forgive me. But you should know that I read everyone when it first comes in and that is the highlight to my day.
However, with the birthday poems, I needed to review and I am tutoring my grandson right now in college English and I ran way behind. Being blind in this eye is slowing me down so bad.
So I am so sorry. Thank you for the kind words that you always have, the sweetness that you always sprinkle on my post and for the six stars that light the way of your message to me. Thank you for being the best brother ever. Love, Debi

Wow-za... this reply came through three times.
Aye, I'm like you.. no need to apologize, we all have a shit-ton of stuff going on. I just heard that phrase (shit-ton) for the first time. And as a numbers guy, I have a hard time wrapping my mind around it.
Wait a sec... grandson? College English? Whaaaat?
Love ya, sis.
