Diane, you are the queen of rhyme and descriptive poetry. This is lovely: Toward the lake where holly grows in wild abandon, not in rows.

I just love your poetry and, as always, thank you for sharing it with us. The entire presentation with wildlife pictures is like a morning psalm to be contemplated.

    Good morning, Pam!
I am most definitely honored by your exceptional rating and complimentary review.
It's another gorgeous autumn morning here in northern Michigan; we've truly been blessed this year with vibrant colors and warm temperatures = just the perfect combination to seek rejuvenation on those "pathways wide."
So very pleased my offering resonated with you!
Off to work outside this morning!
    Much appreciation!

May nature's pathways never cease
to fill my soul with sweet release - so true, I hope that day never daws for me either. This is just beautiful, I felt like I was there with you, holding my breath in awe. Very nice,
cheers,
valda

Hello Diane.
This poem about Autumn reads like an ode to me. It is the construction and descriptives that you use that make it feel that way. Separating the stanzas with pictures is done very well. It is well written and an enjoyable, memorable piece.

    Good morning, Robert!
I am honored by your exceptional rating and complimentary review.
I just commented to Pearl Edwards that nature's restorative powers never fail to amaze me. I find myself more and more needing to step outside of the comfort of my home and embracing the beauty and peace that nature provides... sometimes just to make sense of these times...
So pleased my offering resonated with you, Robert.
    Thank you!

It really does get beautiful "up north" in Michigan. I love the brilliant color changes.

I also loved this stanza:

And in those hours of frosty morn
When fields lay bare of summer's corn,
And trees had shed their garbs of green,
I memorized each passing scene

Nice work!

Wow! This was like watching a Better Homes +Gardens documentary while being serenade with the MOST melodious of poems! All my senses were tended to: sight with those gorgeous pictures you bestowed of the floral and Fauna in your outdoor "house," hearing with the woodpecker video, smell with gorgeous word choices like "frosty morn" and "summer's corn" that automatically evoke olfactory responses, taste with "lapping fresh water" and "acorns" and feeling, both visceral with leaves floating down and an autumn breeze and the emotional variety of awe and wonder and gratitude.

You have outdone yourself with this masterpiece. Your poetry is in a class by itself. This was outstanding, Diane. Xoxoxo

Thank you so much for sharing a lovely glimpse into your world. Northern Michigan is obviously brimming with natural flora and fauna. And your poem highlights a few of them for us. Your notes are helpful, as well as the photos. I really enjoyed the read.

So very honored by your exceptional rating and complimentary review. June.
I initially wanted to add my meeting up with black-capped chickadees and a doe with her young fawns, but I was afraid that folks wouldn't believe I had witnessed so much of nature on one morning's walk.
One thing is certain: those "pathways wide" are healing - especially in this day and age...

    Much appreciation, June!

A beautiful presentation. This has a leisurely flow, which goes with a leisurely walk. You are so attuned to nature. I should spend more time following your example instead of worrying over what's going on in the world. Maybe it would calm my fears, as you noticed. You mention the jays and the flickers. I don't see many chipmunks where I live, but there are plenty of squirrels dashing about and they're fun to watch. This is an uplifting piece to read, because you have been able to renewal in these wonderful gifts of nature. I like your use of rhyming couplets. judi
