Hi Sweetie, so how is it going? I am so happy to see you. And thank you for the very gracious stars, kind comments and review. I appreciate you so much. I am so excited for the poem. I would have such a hard time with keeping it to myself. But one thing I do is keep reading it and making edits. I do it till my gut tells me it is ready. That is just my way tho. Anyway, thank again, my very dear friend. Love, Debi

A sweet poem for your mom. She sounds like the mom we all would like to have had. While she made Halloween special, I'm sure all your other holidays were special too.
Blessings

Oooh, thank you so much, Janet. That means a lot to me that you liked my mom's Halloween poem. She loved every holiday, but especially Christmas and Halloween next. Thank you for the big smile you gave me. Love, Debi

It must be great to be able to creatively express your thoughts and feeling in beautiful poetry. In this poem, you told us so many things about your mom and your family activities. I especially liked the line,
"I'd pick you from a thousand moms, if they gave me my choice." You mom sounds like a great lady who knew how to delight and encourage her children.

Not a house of horrors, the illustration shows the warmth and love within and making the pumpkins to put a candle in. Australia doesn't celebrate like America does. I hear it is a big thing in the States. To write for your darling mother is to reach out for her love. She is watching and waiting for you. For now, memories of childhood must suffice. Love, Kace xx

Hi Kace, she is hard to stop missing. I loved her so very much and she was special. She was even honored on Oprahs show.

It is a wonderful testament to be remembered by your children in such a great way. Some moms are remembered for being particularly mean or as a stern disciplinarian. To be remembered as a caring and loving mom who always went the extra mile in showing great mother's love is an awesome tribute. Now my question for you is, how will you be remembered?

Hmmmm, that would all depend on the era. When they were little they would say I was great. When they were teens, I am sure there are some days they would have traded me in, when they were married and needed free daycare I was the best mom in the world. LOL... I guess I did ok. Haha. But if you ask my grandkids, they will tell you that I am super - grandma. I went non-stop with them so I am glad I had that time. They all love me I am sure.
I hope they will remember the good times. Thanks for the sweet comments, my dear BBBB. Lotsa love, Debi

I will always fondly remember you as a fantastic Baby Sis, whom I have come to love dearly.

This is a wonderful poem dedicated to, I assume, a devoted mother. She really did make Halloween special, especially because there were the nine of you.

God gave you a most amazing mom, Debi! I'm glad you are savoring your memories of her in poetry and sharing them here. I can't imagine how your mom did all that while also teaching and raising so many little ones!

Thank you for being my much younger version of the only woman who could even come close to being as wonderful as my mom.
You may never get a better compliment than that. LOL.
And she would even be telling me that I have to find a way to get more sleep. Go figure!!
Anyway, thank you with all my heart for this lovely review, comments, and six stars. But most of all thank you for being you.
You are not her, but you are a saint, just as she was. So thank you for that, my wonderful friend and sister in Christ. You are so special!!
Love you, Debi

I know it's a compliment beyond my wildest ambitions, sweet Debi! I am not even a shadow like her but I'm honored that you think I resemble her even in the slightest! 💖💞🙏 Now get to sleep! 😂💕

I have a good feeling after reading your words. Your poem keeps the memory of your Mom alive. It sounds like she was so much fun around Halloween with the pumpkin carving and sewing costumes. I also like the sentence structure of your words, a smooth flow and almost poetic prose. Your poem is a keeper, would do well framed and placed for all to read.

You have me all snotted up. What lovely memories. I miss my mama too. She told scary stories, and loved creeping people our in funny ways. We usually had church parties in the garage. We made chex mix. And punch and coffee and halloween cookies.
Thanks for the memories. Karen

What a lovely poem and salute to your mom. I think it is true for all of us that we remember moms every day, but more so on certain days. On October 16, 1956, my mom crossed over. Hard to believe that is 68 years ago and still I feel her close, guiding me as I follow my string to that Great Gettin' Day. Loved your poem. ann
