I agree. What I hate the most is I'll be talking and can't bring up a word I'm searching for. I just want to scream. It's horrible. So far it hasn't happened in my writing. Your poem was fun to read.

Lovely! And can't I relate to this, Debi! I can be in front of the coffee machine and not remember whether or not I've put the pod in, ending up with a very watery cuppa!! Then, I just think to myself, I'm obviously leaving space for the important things (until I forget those too!!) Your verse is a delight to read, not least for its very pleasing conversational tone. Lovely! And can't I relate to this, Debi! I can be in front of the coffee machine and not remember whether or not I've put the pod in, ending up with a very watery cuppa!! Thank you for being here and yes, we do need to exercise our brains. It's why we're here and God helps us connect with others which gives us a special purpose for being here. The going to one place and forgetting is because we had so many other thoughts between one place and another.

This was adorable! It was also very relatable. I went downstairs the other night to grab "something". Folded some laundry, went back upstairs, remembered why I went downstairs, retraced my steps, put laundry away, back upstairs. Cursed because, again, didn't get what I needed, went back downstairs repeating the item I needed aloud. Good news is, it only took 3 trips and the laundry was done. Bad news, forgot why I needed the item. Getting older is an adventure. Lol. Great poem. Gretchen

Hahaha, Hi Ulla, I was just trying to be funny with this, as I remember already thirty years ago going into another room and forgetting what I went in there for. Yes, it was fun writing something we could all relate to. And I do think that most of us are pretty happy with most of our friendships here too. Thank you so much for being one of mine.

This is quite a common problem.very often I open the fridge and wonder what is it that I wanted. I keep forgetting to order groceries worse I forget that I have kept something on the stove and reaise that only when a burning smell comes! Yeah we all why we are coming here .Thanks Debi for sharing this.
