I am glad you did decided to go ahead and post this. I enjoyed reading. I am wondering what the shop owner thought now. LOL
"You couldn't be more wrong!" the customer laughed. (The - laughed isn't a speech tag.)
stilettos (I doubt you mean stilettos here, they' high heeled shoes, with the spike heels. I am not sure what type of knives you're wanting.

Thank you so much for your kindness. Stilettos are long thin bladed knives. I think the shoes were named after them. Some knives have wide or thick blades and wouldn't much resemble a cross of juxtaposed on one another.

Thank you for clearing this up. I had googled it before I commented, and nothing came up.

Sorry. Perhaps I should have used another image.

It's probably just me. Others probably understood perfectly.

As a matter of fact, there were others who misunderstood also. I'll have to watch things like tht in the future.

I'm sort of happy I didn't know what a long skinny knife was called. LOL

Splendid twisted story. Taking something so simple as people-watching and turning it inside out. Pawn brokers likely do have psychic powers, after all, the pawn broker is the one who asked when we were getting married.

I'm thankful you have a great husband now and hope you won't pawn him away!

"So he needs that fan to cool him off." Better to change him to himself.
"I'd like that revolver over there, those two stilettos, the ones with the longer blades," Uh-oh, smells like trouble.
Not sure what contest this was originally meant for, but I'm sure it would have done very well, as the twist/revelation (no pun intended) was quite surprising--pleasantly.

There was a "checking you out" contest listed. It needed 300 words max, and this went a little over. I've cropped out portions of stories before, but I felt this would be ruined if I shortened it.
