I like the subject matter in this poem. It's important to give children who do have to move for whatever reason, someone to identify with when it comes to all the things that have to be left behind. Good luck in the contest.

Molly could always take a picture on her cell phone of the things that won't move:-)
Isn't it always the story that we learn to love our new homes, or certainly accept them for what they represent in our next phase of life.
A lovely rhyming poem with a perfect accompanying illustration.
Good luck with the contest.

I was just reading the entries for the rhyming children's poem and yours is fabulous. I couldn't just vote for it. I had to review it and let you know. Quite talented . I like the feeling of Molly's anxiety and fright at the move. Loved how the little girl tried to take the items with her. Not understanding that the memories move with you and how the new house will provide new memories. Wonderfully written. Good luck in the contest. You got my vote. Gretchen

A delightful and happy
children's poem on moving.
Sometimes moving to a new
neighborhood, new school,
new friends can be stressful
for children. This poem is
quite comforting. My very
best wishes for the contest.

This is a very endearing poem and I can see it as a picture book for children. It is a story that would help to ease the anxiety that we all feel about moving and missing our old home. Until we discover with joy that there is a new home inviting us to love it too.

Very beautiful and tender poem. I like the creative ideas here ( Molly wanted to remove the wall where she marked her heights, etc). The rhythm pattern is perfect too!!

As a child who moved five times from birth to age 15, I immersed myself in this poem! It would be such a perfect poem to read to a child who is anxious about an impending move! Terrific rhymes and I giggled at the thought of taking a favorite tree, the blue front door, concrete...
If THIS doesn't do well int he contest I can't imagine what would!

This was really good. It was a fun poem in which you beautifully showed us Molly trying to take the things she loved about her house with her, but unfortunately unable to do so. But instead of fretting about it, she found new things to take their place in her new home. What a great attitude.
This was humorous and sweet and very well written with good rhyme and a flowing meter. Great job. Jim

Jim, the mere mention of meter by the meter man himself is enough to make my whole day. Thank you! XO

The author's words are lovely, descriptive and creative. I liked how this
author gently expresses the sad feeling associated with moving through
a child's eyes. It is always hard to step out of what's familiar! The artwork
goes well with these words. Great Poem! Have a great day!....Maria
