Love is all we need - and the precious innocence of a five year old child.
And, as I remember reading in another beautiful post with a similar message - "We all bleed red!"
The truth is we are One,
all different, yet the same,
each of us a fragment
of the Source from which we came.

So I find this story really interesting because it is relatable. I think race is something children are taught to identify by and with, because before that lesson comes about, they actually don't identify using race at all. I have had similar experiences with my children (who are very young), who use other examples to identify their friends. Thank you for sharing your story.

Great write!
This is honest writing written with a wise hand. The news seems to be getting worse everyday with no end in sight. My children were raised not to see color but to see people as they are. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Author,
Thanks so much for sharing this delightful story. I so wish we could have the heart of children when we're dealing with other people. There seems to be a concerted effort to report news that divides us, as opposed to seeing anything that brings us together. I believe this is all intentional, as a house that is divided can't stand. Well done.
Have a blessed evening.

God made everything different in colors. Everyone is unique. He made a variety of items for us to choose. No one has the right to discriminate. Thank you for sharing this post.

I know neither on of my children see colour, that's why the colour of the shirt was a strikingly wise analogy, when we raise our children to know see colour, we know the next generation is safe too, perhaps they can change the world, beautifully written, blessings Roy

This was a great story. We could all learn from those boys playing ball, not seeing race but only t-shirt colors. Thank you so much for sharing this here. Best wishes.

well, with children like your grandson, there IS hope if the teachers spouting CRT don't get to him. Bless him, and thank you for your lovely post. Hope, fairness, truth and honesty are what we need in abundance.
Again, thank you.

This is the foundation of a good story. I agree with you, this world is in turmoil. Racism is a product of many generations and as you stated, parents and grandparents can diminish this hatred for future generations. GOOD LUCK IN THE CONTEST.

I enjoyed this essay for several reasons. It is very well-written and though brief, covers the topic thoroughly and concisely. The lessons to be learned from the described experience are clear and timely and well defined. The wording and the presentation are excellent. I hope it is widely read. It seems the media these days want us to notice color and so much is made of skin color when I have felt strongly for years that is a mistake. Most all of us are a mixture of several nationalities and each of us is unique. Why not accept that? Why must race ever be an issue? As MLK liked to point out, it is character that matters. I honestly believe most humans feel that way. Thank you so much for this excellent and thought-provoking contribution. I hope it does well in the contest. MM
