Lol. Well, I hope it really was just an abandoned speedway and that no other cars ever go that way. It was good to have the reminder of the "speeding tickets" at the end, even if he didn't get one.

Certainly a good imagination! :) ;) I would only suggest, perhaps, doing something with that last sentence:
without issued speeding tickets --> [perhaps try] without receiving speeding tickets
It is just a bit awkward although I know you were limited on words. :) Thanx for sharing and best of luck in the contest! ;)

Yes, I understand. Many years ago, I had a friend Who thought the same thing. Unfortunately, there was a highway patrol man behind a large billboard. When my friend was up before the judge, and the judge asked, " what the hell do you think you were doing?" My friend replied that he just wanted to see how fast his car would go. After the shock of the fine, it's still a good story. Best wishes.
