Having Churchill with him could be good. It will make it doubly hard to explain the 'glasses' on the King's picture. This is the start of showing he's insane. hahahahaha

Yes, you have it, Yvonne, they are going full out to get him now, and it will give Gladys a lot of satisfaction. Thank you so much, my dear friend, for another lovely review. Sending you a warm hug.:)) Sandra xxx

I wonder what Charles will think about the little piece of art? It serves him right. With actions like that they might drive him to the nut house or so insane that he'll utter a confession like the man did in The Tell Tale heart, lol. It's very well-written, interesting. I'm looking forward to the next chapter.

With Winston Churchill, I don't think Charles will be at all impressed! LOL, he'll have a lot to explain. Thank you so much for your lovely review, my friend. Big hugs, Sandra xx

Haha, Sandra, that is funny about the glasses incident. I believe Charles will be madder than ????? but will realize that things are not quite right. You did a great job with this chapter. It started with a depressed feel but perked up when they went to work on their plan. The ending is quite an eye-opener--WChurchill, wow! Thanks for sharing. Jan

Thank you so much for your lovely review, Jan. I'm glad you enjoyed the glasses scene, I don't think Charles will, lol. Yes, Churchill is an important part of the next couple of chapters. Big hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

A really good chapter. Your description of Mildred's dilemma and the way the others react to her body language is first class. I wondered how this part would work out. Putting the decision in Mildred's mind is a perfect solution. You've not quite closed the door on alternatives, though! It would be good to be able to give her a happy ending.
I'm looking forward to Churchill's reaction to the graffiti - assuming he can see it through the cigar smoke, that is!

LOL, I've just finished reviewing your story! Thank you so much for the 6 stars, my friend, and this amazing review. We'll have to see about a 'happy ending' Mildred really does deserve one. Let's hope the Powers see it that way, too. Churchill's reaction is coming up soon. :)) Thanks again, Tony. :)) Sandra xx

Hi Sandra,

very nice work here once again. good descriptions and moving things on nicely with Tommy & Mildred. bit sad there.

"I mean t' say, there can't be too many people- I'm not sure here but I would consider that if she slips her 'to' then it's a fair bet 'too' would be clipped as well. Not sure though.

I did think of that and changed it several times with and without that apostrophe. I tried saying it aloud, and the 'too' is more pronounced than, 'to'. I think if I put it in italics so that it's stressed it might work better. Hmm. Thanks for your thoughts on that, Gareth, I'll probably be pondering on that point for a while before the book is finished. :)) Sandra xx

I'd love to see that painting after they touched it up with ink. LOL! So Winston Churchill is Charlie's guest, eh? I wonder what they have to talk about. Maybe he wants to get some secrets to use to help the enemy win?

Why doesn't Gladys do something to scare Charles? Let him know people are aware of his plan, and then do things to him, like empty the ink bottle on his face and clothing. She could even bring a gun and stick it in his face. She has to think like a villain to fight one. :)

Thank you so much for the lovely six stars, my dear friend.

Veronica and Gladys have realised that Charles will not be frightened off after they had tried it in his office. They'd hoped to get him to confess, but no such luck. Now they are going to make him look as if he has lost his marbles and Churchill won't want him in charge of sea-battles. Veronica needs to stop him changing the location of the Jutland sea-battle, to another place which Veronica knows will change the future. You'll see what happens with the picture in the next part. :)) Big hugs, my friend. Sandra xxx

I was so pleased to see another chapter waiting to be read. Please ignore what you don't agree with.

"I want to get started working on Charles, so what do you think of putting plan B into operation and go to his office now?" - maybe 'putting plan B into operation and going to his office now'

Everyone wore grim, expressions. - delete comma

touch typing keyboard on our computer - hyphenate 'touch-typing'

He keeps it locked," Gladys told me as she traced her fingers over the bust of someone. I imagined must be well known to be so honoured, although, who it was I hadn't a clue. -there is a word missing here I think - 'I imagined it must be someone well-known to be so honoured'

On the wall behind the desk was an imposing, glass framed picture of King George V, and farther over was another of Lord Nelson. - hyphenate 'glass framed'

I went over to Charles' desk and picking up his pen, I dipped it into the inkwell. - comma after 'and'

Kind regards. Judy

There's a bit I don't understand, probably because I haven't read the whole thing. Why does Mildred say she died and then popped up again?
I love the last paragraph. Churchill?
Looking forward to reading more.

LOL, I can imagine how strange that must read. But, by the end of the second book, Mildred was an old lady and died. She came back to life as a 28-year-old lady, still our Mildred, but now younger and Veronica has since wondered if she is part of the mysterious 'powers-that-be' who send her to these places back in time. Mildred, in fact, has been brought back many times, although her memories of those times have been suppressed, she only remembers the times she shares with the people she is working with now. I hope that makes sense, lol. Thank you, my friend, for reading this part, I'm glad you liked the ending, there's lots of fun in store! :)) Sandra xx
