Thank you very much, Angie, and I am very sorry to learn of your loss.
Twenty-eight years is a very long time to be married to someone, especially with the times being as they are in which we live today.
My thoughts and prayers are with you, and I've no doubt you'll pull through while leaving sorrow and mourning far behind you, with only fond memories like whispers in their stead.
    Thanks again, God bless...

Thank you Dean. I hope so. I had been with him since 17 now I'm 46 and more lost than ever. I tried to take my life but it didn't work. Not my time I guess. At least he is with our daughter again finally. Big hugs🤗

This is so well written, and anyone who has ever worked with rhyme and meter would be forced to admit you've accomplished something quite remarkable here. The internal rhymes, so precise and rich, add much to this, (reminding one of The Raven, of course) and the whole presentation is so apt. It is a morbid tale with a profound moral that is unforgettable. I loved everything about it.

Good morning to you Dean;
-I curse you my man for you have driven me into a unwelcoming quandary of whether or not, at which you are more than deserving, to question my wits in determining if I should or should not respond in giving you a six-star rating. I have previously, and not with doubt, pleasantly administered a six-star rating to two others and deservingly so. For you will have to wait another day, for a six to come your way, and I am very, sad to say, the least, that you shall not receive a six-star beast, today.
-I could definitely see myself, with what arrogance, that still resides in my psyche, not to see what this town would offer me in terms of my ill-fated end
like the man in your story. To fall to the curse, that the other people in this hamlet had fallen too. A scurvy scabbed and peeling pocketed skin slowly detaching from my body. Yuuuuck!
-You outdid yourself in your internal and external rhyming that was skillfully obtained and achieved. In your rhythm slowly entices the reader into falling forever never short to the realization that one reads without thinking help fluidly of the reading really is.
-The great sound and pictures to enhance the reader into a realm of reality.
-Thanks for sharing Dean and take care and have a good one and I'll catch your six the next time so you don't have to look over your back. Chuckle!
Alex

Oh, no, Alex, never worry that you've no sixes left to award when contemplating whether or not to grace me with your review. I fully realize there are sooooooo many talented poets and authors here that I too find it very difficult to hang onto my own sixes past Wednesday. While I deeply appreciate each and every six I am fortunate enough to receive, it is never my motivation for writing.
I am grateful to you for deciding to drop by and give me the benefit of your insights and wisdom.
That alone is reward enough for me.
    Take care, my friend.

Thank you so much for thinking that I have wisdom. My wife usually thinks that I do every time she wants me to take out the garbage or wash the kitchen floor or do something else around the house and it seems I have so much wisdom then. Chuckle! You're welcome and take care my friend and God bless.

The artwork is wonderful but the poem is a work of art in itself. Loved the form, the rhyme and flow-so smooth and compelling to read. Another great.

Terrrrrific in every way!! I can't say enough good things about this write. I so enjoyed reading this wonderfully, creepy tale.

Your poem is outstanding, Dean! Love your internal rhymes and how in some instances they even wrap around to the middle of the next line to give three rhymes in a row. Great alliteration throughout this piece. Your choice of wording throughout is second to none. Loved "village over/whiffs of clover" and "befall me/enwall me". Maladies of Magnitude is a perfect title, and your choice of artwork also befits this write to a tee.

I enjoyed your poem as well as the artwork by this Polish painter
to accompany it. Written well in this dire tale. I see one typo--"leisons" (lesions).

I like how you have foreshadowed leprosy in the first stanza by use of the word "unclean," which is the biblical term for this ailment. Your poem is exceptional. Marilyn

Great job on this poem! You really do well painting a picture of the dark village and bringing out the terror of the wanderer. The use of archaic language works well here and helps give it a creepy feel.

I loved that poetic cadence that echoes Poe's The Raven beautifully. The story unfolds poetically with your flourish of macabre details so eloquently addressed to achieve the horrific impact desired. The rhyming was terriffic. The use of caesura was integral to the impact. Superb imagery in verse and graphics. You captured my attention with your very first beautifully crafted line. Loved the dillydally line. You ever taught me a new word that echoed Poe's famous "nevermore" with "aigremore." Bravo!
