Your haiku smoothly combines the emotions of weeping and smiling. Nice alliteration of the w sound used. You can hear the leaves whispering in the wind.

Very nicely done!

Kind regards

Sarah

this is interesting. This change to 3-9-5 format.a very good photograph. Actually this is the first time i am seeing the photo of a weeping willow, though I have read about it in books and used to wonder why it is called weeping willow.good alliteration of 'w' sound with children even mature would smile.

I really like this entry in this haiku poetry contest Carolyn, I love the paradoxical bent you've woven cleverly into this narrative, which connects beautifully with this it's accompanying artwork, well done Carolyn, good luck, blessings, Roy.

Nice alliteration in lines 1 and 3 and a clever visual juxtaposition of weeping and smiling add strength to this.

What makes the willow smile? A child - enough to bring a smile to any old dial.

Good luck.

Willow trees were my favourite as a child so I love the words you have used in your description. The words flow as a willow tree does, sweeping willow tree child (that I am). I feel reminiscing coming on. Thanks for the sweet poem.

this very well written Carolyn, but it needs to be one thought across two lines and then a concrete image line. maybe

willow waits
as branches tickled by child
creates a smile

Love this entry for this competition Carolyn, it sounds and reads beautifully, this beautiful tree looking down and tickling a young child's face is great imagery, Good luck in the contest.
