I'm glad my children are beginning to love reading and my two girls love to spend their free time at the school library. I told them that everything they read fills their head with new bits of information. The more knowledge you have, the better-equipped you are to tackle any challenge you'll ever face. c", Mae

A child-like imaginative look at
the book drop. Vivid images throughout
strong meter and great rhyme.
I have no doubt Sawyer will be "plopping" many books
into that book drop before long. Nancy

Great presentation for a very clever poem. Quatrains are great for this sort of story-telling. "Young Sawyer, hate to tell you - more than books are dropped into Library chutes!

Beautiful, Brooke. It gave me the giggles, which means it is good. Loved reading it. As always a nice picture of Sawyer to go with it. Nicely done. Miss Sally

This is a different approach than I have ever thought about writing. What a fun way to describe books. This was fun and such a childish imagination.

I bet they all worry
'bout what I will plop
to add to the mix of
the library drop.
You never cease to amaze me with your vivid imagination - always such a treat to read your poems. I hope you're putting them in a book for Sawyer - quite a job!!

Thank you so very much, Margaret, for your generous rating and thoughtful comments :-) It is always great to see you. I'd ask you how your Fourth of July weekend was, but that is probably not the right question to ask a Brit. LOL :-) Brooke

Good use of the abcb rhyme scheme. Good end rhyming. Good alliteration with made/my...mysterious/mansions...munches/mountains. Good rhythm and flow. Good complimentary photo followed by a clear message.

Dear Brooke,
How imaginitive! Using the metaphor of a drop box as a tummy swallowing up all the stuff in books. Another really great poem today. Got to save some sixes for the other folks:) Great job--Ted

What an imaginative idea, that the library drop contains all the ideas and characters in the stories of the returned books! That would be a lot to swallow, for sure. The Library drop should be a little lower for little tykes. LOL! Really fun to read, Brooke!

This was a great light-hearted piece. I really like the imagery of all the stories coming to life in the bookdrop, a little bit like Night at the Museum minus the over-acting of Ben Stiller. Great work on this piece as well, Brooke, thanks for sharing.
