Good complimentary photo. Good use of the aabb rhyming scheme. Good end rhyming. Good perfect rhyming with ride/side...rise/wise...side/wide...best/rest. Good description and alliteration. Good clear message that holds my attention from start to finish.

Gorgeous view and a lovely poem. The serene river and beautiful words are a journey in itself. You have to be a lover of nature to appreciate and write like the way you do, Carolyn.

This is very beautiful. The river of life, the waters are rough yet calm.I will read this one to my eighty-seven year old mother. Her vision is not so great these days, but she enjoys hearing a good poem or story. Thanks for sharing.

That is a very enjoyable poem and I like the simile of the river of life flowing along taking us through all he twists and turns and protecting us as we go until finally he calms it all down and takes us home. Well done

Every stanza is beautiful in this. But these two jumped out at me the most:
"When finally the sea's in view
And death is closing in on you
Have no fear if you rode the tide
And in His loving care abide
For the rivers bank on either side
of sparkling waters deep and wide
Portray a life-scene at it's best
Oh faithful one, you've earned your rest"
Very original and talented work. Keep it up. :)
