Well done. I couldnn't find any faults in this masterfully crafted work of art. The music adds to the tempo of the poem well and the artwork was a great choice.

this is very well written, dean, you did an excellent job writing this poem promoting and paying tribute to alex george's writings. i had to keep going back and forth because the page is too big for my screen.

Oops, sorry about that, sweet. You really have to play with the resolution to get the font to be legible. I hope it didn't cause you too much of a problem. You are the first one to mention this particular problem to me. However, this is the sort of honest feed back I need to perfect this type of poem.
Thank you so much, again!

Dean once again you penned such a marvelous poem, and your presentation is simply stunning! I do find the music distracted me from reading a bit, although it is wonderful, but that's easily fixed by playing it after the poem (and then reading again!) Lovely alliteration (again) and super rhyme. Great entertainment, but I have come to expect no less from you.

Sorry about the music, Dawn. I notice you often include a video, but never on auto play. I always have to scroll down, start your video, then hurry back up to read your poem as the music plays. To me, that is a major distraction. With my format, all you've got to do is simply "mute" it. I prefer to read music with poetry, I believe they're synonymous. But, that's not a criticism, merely a preference.
Thanks for your wonderful review...

No worries - I do enjoy music with poetry at times, but some poems are so deep that I find the music better played when I have grasped the meaning of each phrase, pictured the images, yes? (That's why I went back to read it again with the music - *Smile* - I was then able to appreciate it fully.) I'm one of those that abhors distractions when I am writing too, and unless it is very softly playing in the background, music is something I love being able to devote my mind to, in and of itself, imagining... I grew up in a very musical family and performed myself for many years - maybe that has something to do with it...?? Anyway, it was wonderful!

That's ironic, because I am the exact opposite. I BLARE Metallica and Pink Floyd music when I write. The television is a no-no, however. When I DO post a poem with a video, 9 times out of ten, the people that have been following me for quite some time will review it, and ask me..."Where was the music?", if I don't set it to come on automatically. Funny, isn't it, how diversely different we are as to what inspires us, and how we go about creating? That's what makes our world such an interesting place to live...
Here's a review I just received. Case in point...
Excellent as usual! The author did a good with the descriptive and vivid words of this poem. The reader was disappointed because the music did not play! The artwork was perfect and complimented the poem. harmony13

Doesn't surprise me at all. :) Lots of people watch television while studying too - I have a niece who was straight-A and ALWAYS had to be watching TV while she read - I have never been able to do it. So don't go by me (LOL), but then, when I review I am going to give you MY views, not someone else's. I'm sorry you turned the auto off! That's why I pointed out it was no detriment, really, because I just read the poem twice - and that was NO hardship! :)

I reinstated it. Maybe I should put some type of notice atop the page that a soundtrack will begin to play? Maybe that would help those who don't want the music catch it before it begins. I have to find a way to accommodate everyone's taste here. I'll figure something out...
-
Hahaha - that's a consideration, but honestly, you are so wonderfully talented, and so well-received, I think it would be a mistake. As I said, it's nothing to scroll down and turn the music off for the first read, and most people obviously love what you do with it - it's a wonderful introduction, Dean - just not for me for every work (though it is fabulous in some cases, I think - like the zombie one - scared the cra- out of me)!

Message received, read Alex George immediately. Have you considered a career in public relations, LOL. Seriously, the rhyme scheme in this poem is amazing. The picture brings the words to life in a fantastic way. I love how you can switch genres with none if the weird leakage that other writers suffer from. A great poem, my friend and a huge endorsement from a writer of your talent.

Dean, you are correct about Alex's writing. I'm not into that genre or Horror, but Alex and Curtis Hatch (Mystery and Crime Fiction) are two of the best writers at FanStory in those areas. It's the height of gallantry to honor him in such an altruistic manner. By the way, I like this poem - yes Alex does write about Weapon Masters, Daring Nymphs and Evil Princes and Pirates aplenty.

Out of sixes...this one deserves one! Great medieval-styled writing, perfectly accented by both the music and pic. Interesting that you found two versions of the same song in the same meter, speed.. .really fleshed it out well. If you are (or were) a Metallica fan, you should check out the Scorched Earth Orchestra's remake of the whole Master Of Puppets album... one of my favorite pieces of music! Beethoven was 400 years ahead of his time!

Thanks, PW, and I am a HUGE fan of both Metallica and Apocalypta, as well. I have every album each has ever made.

I'm not sure if you've heard of the program, Rip That Music...if you haven't, download it! Just $25, you can rip the audio from any video on YouTube. I have at least 20 CDs I've done of live versions, unreleased tracks just of Apocalyptica... not to mention other acts. I bet I've downloaded tens of thousands of tracks, at least... I have 15 8-gig thumb drives full, hundreds of CDs full, my computer's stuffed full...definitely got my money's worth with that program!
