This was hilarious and so enjoyable to read. It was not too predictable and I liked your ending...didn't see that coming. Great rhyming with such an assortment of words! This would make a great song, as you say, I can hear the twang in the lilting verses!

LOL. Well, that's one way to get rid of Olde Scratchy Ass. A humorous poem with a cute story about a very "anal" guy. Sorry, I couldn't resist that one.
Thanks for the laugh. - Thesis

Sure is an entertaining poem - loved it! You have maintained the rhyming couplets and meter throughout the poem as you told this funny story, Would be a great poem to perform aloud to an audience. Well done

That's so funny. I've heard it when kids are picking their noses. No matter where you're digging, you might find some gold. That would make an awesome song. Great job.

It makes no difference where you dig, it isn't pleasant to look at!
Thanks for your comments my friend,

Curt, this is a fun, though a bit disgusting piece. I understand writing something like this. It is like serious poetry producing free radicals in the imagination. What he poet needs is to write a poem that is outrageous, silly, dirty and/or completely "out of character." Such a piece absorbs the free radicals like a sponge. Then back to business...

Exactly so, and so well put!
Too many serious works cause a disturbance in the 'force'.
Thanks for the insightful comments my friend,

Hi Curt...how I hope you will get this set to music. It is about the funniest thing I have read on fanstory. You have an impeccable rhyme and rhythm that makes this tale a pleasure to read. I wonder how many years old Scratchy dug for gold? Too funny....chainy

Hi Chainy!
I liked writing this thing, but the story behind it is stranger than fiction. I started to write a more serious work, but was overruled by my muse!
I'm so glad you got a chuckle out of this. I hope to have music for it one day sooon.
Always,
Curt

Thank you Shirley!
I don't always write with a sense of humor, but sometimes I have to let that crazy monkey out and let him jump on the keyboard for awhile!
Glad you liked it!

HAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS is great, VERY funny! You have rhymed each stanza perfectly Curt, and it is almost like an episode of an old Gunsmoke! I love the photo too, it is perfect with this! I would love to draw this man. And your Dad sounds like mine. He would say to my brother at the dinner table, "Mark, can't you fart any lounder than THAT?" And this would cause laughter! Good work does not have to be serious, this is a prime example!! Susan

Thanks Susan!
My humor runs the whole circuit, but my favorite stuff is Monty Python and Mel Brooks. Makes me laugh like a loonie!
Thanks for stopping in to share your thoughts,
Curt

Speaking of comedy...my son insisted on seeing "Larry the Cable Guy" tonight. I suffered. Horribly...he is to me, disgusting. I like John Cleese, and Lewis Black...the redneck thing is just...well...anyway, your poems are really varied and interesting!!! Keep it up!! S.

Ewwww! You certainly know how to write about anything. That was quite a story, and those men were certainly brave to near McGee's private junk.

It is a departure from the usual, I would say!
Thanks (I think?) for being grossed out by this piece!

This really tickles the funny bone. I like it when a writer
just post something for the fun it. Life is too short to be serious all the time.
