I just wonder how many times this actually happens
to the "mall" Santas? Funny and charming with no
errors I noted. Love the photo of your
grandchildren. Thanks so much for sharing :)

Oh what a shame, the poor love, her excitement got the better of her. Your story may be fiction but I bet this may have happened more than a few times. I really enjoyed reading it.
Children are so funny. They love the idea of Santa but their nervousness of strangers sometimes spoils their fun. When my youngest daughter was very small I was acting Santa Claus as my husband was away working on an oil rig . I tried to creep in the bedroom with the sack of presents to leave at the foot of the bed (our tradition is for the children to wake and find the gifts Santa left at the bottom of their beds). Vicky woke up and was so frightened that she almost climbed the curtains to escape. She made me realise that even Santa Claus was a stranger and she was frightened by this. It also made me realise that leaving the presents at the foot of the Christmas tree was a better option.

The story was based on my little munchkins and I am thrilled that you enjoyed it. I chuckled (though your daughter of course didn't) have you trying to sneak into their bedrooms with presents. WE use to leave their stockings in their rooms...much easier and quicker to deposit a stocking than gifts. Thank you so much for your kind review. Carol

Oh the joy of Christmas when Santa places all
the good children upon his knee, but then
whoops... LOL. This was a delightful and
true to life story Carol...

Thank you for enjoying the darling little munchkins...We laugh now but it wasn't funny at the time. They are just too adorable not to love. But then of course I am prejudice.

Oh, Carol, "I Can't Wait" is truly a delightful to read story. My grandchildren read it too, and cracked up laughing. Nice presentation, beautifully written with - what I love most - easy to understand words. LOL. Santa should have another outfit because of that 'can't wait' little girl. By the way, your grandchildren are so cute. Send my big hugs for them both. And for you too, Carol. (tati, Dec. 05, 2009)

You're right Carol. So many things to tell about them. My eldest grandson, Reinhard, was so upset when he found a poem I made for his sister, Lyra. He commented funnily, "Two grandchildren, two poems. That's the rule in this house, Grandma." With much love,
tati

What precious little grandchildren. They are adorable. A nice story about the visit to old Ho Ho with a very startling, but humorous ending. Isn't that just like a two year old:) Funny story, Carol. Love, Jean
