The ultimate in sadness. Estranged from your child, dying o cancer and alone. This is surely winner material. I see no spags and the rhyme and rhythm is good.

Thanks so much Carol for your excellent review and comments. It does make one wonder what can happen if family rifts aren't fixed by the time the parent/s are old...xoxoxoxoxo

The fourth anniversary of my grandmother's death just passed, so this poem really hit me hard. So raw in its emotion. You did an excellent job with this, Chris.

Thanks Johnny. There is some relevance here to my own situation also, though some of it is fictional. But still, I'm left wondering after reading this poem - which was one of those that came from up there somewhere with just my fingers doing the work - what life has in store for the future. Bless you and your continued support my friend, and I hope you have come to some peace with your own situation. xoxoxoxoxoxo

Yes sad unfortunately we all die one day.Forgiveness is so important to give or say to someone if you have hurt them in any way.
Actually one will feel happier when doing so. One has nothing to lose by saying sorry. A great poem and hopefully their will be peace soon for all concerned.

Great poem though it is very sad. I can just feel the tears stinging my eyes. All too often we say things that can;t be taken back. You have a strong entry here. Good luck. Jeanette

Thank you dear lady for this awesome review and rating. Yes, we're all guilty of saying things that can't be changed or taken back. I'm totally thrilled and humbled by the 6 stars, but it's your continued support that gives me all the stars I could ask for xoxoxoxoxxoo

Hello lady, I thught this was sad and very well written. It's like a story and reading was much nicer with the rhymed lines. I wish you all the best.

A sad tale indeed. Well written, rhyme and meter are both fine, although it feels a little rushed in places. Storyline is clear and concise and contains a useful message for those with sharp tongues. All around a good job and enjoyable read.

Thanks Mangoe! I've had a look at the "rushed bits", but they are being a bit elusive...Hopefully, I'll discover what you mean, but at the moment, I'm a bit mystified! But just the same, I appreciate that you still saw fit to rate this a 5, even with that problem that you found. So, as said, thank you so much! xoxoxoxoxxo
