The good that comes out of these dastardly acts is in heart-wrenching poems such as these. You show the pain, shame and eventual acceptance and peace (that it's not our fault). Well done. I wish you well in the contest.

Hi Jan,
What a wonderful, affirming poem you're given us here.
The sad shame these kids deal with all the time, the fear of blame and discovery. Just makes you want to cry.
Best,
Gayle

Jan,
Ni, she is not to blame. It is the sick adults in her world that should be punished. My daughter is the light of my life. I would never do anything to harm her in any way.
The theme is good. The message that this poem carries is very nice. Someone needs to say that the children are not to blame.
It is perfectly written and completely error free.
I look forward to seeing you again.
Love you,
Oatmeal

Very timely and beautifully done. Your rhyme and meter flow very easily, and the piece is easy to read. This is a poem that needs to published for step groups and the likes everywhere. This would bring healing to many a wounded soul. Great job,rdfrdmom2.

Hi Jan,
Oh my, your heart and willingness to help others shines in this write. Your words to the victim give them the freedom to release those demons and lay that past to rest as the victim usually blames themselves. This truly deserves the six stars but sadly I don't have one. If I did it would be yours. I hope that all reads this piece. Thank you for sharing this freedom with others. God bless and best wishes!

thanks, mtngalofnc. I'm a little overwhelmed by the reaction to this piece. It was one of those that demanded to be written. It kept nagging at me until I committed it to paper. love, jan

Wow
This piece was recommended to me from a friend on here and i'm so glad it was.
What an amazing and powerful piece. It made me cry! (well tear up....I never cry!) You touched my inner child with your words and feel you spoke to me personally.....I'm sure everyone fills that when they read it!
I am so thankfull you shared that piece as it is filled with such positve encouragement to a child who experienced so much pain. It was like you huged my inner child and reminded me that she is always needing that little hug!
I thank you x

This is such a touching poem about the effects of child abuse on the innocent who feel they are to blame for a devil's actions. The imagery in this one is emotional as well as physical and is quite vivid. This subject should be brought to the fore and kept in the public eye. Excellent writing. Blessings, Linda

Hello Jan. This is such a great write from you dedicated to those who'd gone through some kind of abuse during childhood. What you wrote was very inspiring. I need to check that poem from bbb.

Hi again,Jan,
Such a poweful statement, writtenwith such beauty and tenderness. Boy, it's good to have you back! Yes, you're right ... don't suppress the anger and pain. It only holds one back.
Always a treat to read something of yours.
Always,
David
