It is indeed a tough transition, my friend. I wish them all the best in every future endeavor and in their heath issues.

I know my footprint has shrunk, but I have had to pursue other avenues.

It was hard to find a picture that would work. I appreciate the read. Karen

-Good image and nice presentation, Karen.
-I like the way you did this, including Debbie and Sandra.
-I miss them already, too.
-You wrote a good tanka and begin with your feelings.
-A very good pivot line about "sweetness and love."
-Very good closing lines with the image of empty spaces,
and how no one can take their place.
-They will both appreciate your kind thoughts.
-They will be missed.

As we get older, we begin to lose those we hold dear. This is an excellent entry for the contest, Karen. It's well-crafted and certainly relatable. Sorry I've been away for a bit and missed a chapter. Work has been intolerable and we lost a cousin a few days ago.

I used another wolf picture today. Pretty scary fellow. Lol.

God bless, my dear friend.
Steve

Thank you for the read. I had a hard time finding a picture of three women that I thought would work.

An excellent entry for the Tanka Poetry Contest. I agree. It is so difficult when things change and people we have come to love have to go away. Thanks for sharing.

I am sad about it. They were like you and me, the right kind of crazy. Thanks for the read. Karen

What a picture, Karen! But I am sure it would give each of the girls a big chuckle and your words reflect my feelings and many others I am sure. Life's getting tougher every day seeing our friends slip away. Hang tough, girl friend.
