Loved this family meander.... the "too's" got a bit of a hiding...and one other spag.
get read to[o]
arranging the desks as I'd asked him to[o],
how dangerous it was(,) or(;) wasn't going to do any good.

Thank you for catching my problems. I have made the corrections. I always appreciate the help.

LOL, Barbara! On those occasions when we have been told to shelter in place for tornadoes, my husband goes right into our storage closet with me (we don't have a basement).
I watched a tornado rip through my back yard when I was a kid; I don't mess around with them.
Great picture, by the way:-)

No mistakes noted, except mine for not having a sixth star. I enjoyed this as I do all your works. The last time we had a tornado warning, my daughter was staying over with me, but, thank God! nothing happened as usual in our area.

I am very thankful that I live in an area that rarely has a tornado. I have walked in the woods and seen where violent weather has uprooted trees, but this is very uncommon.

Thank you for the support. We've had tornados around my part of Texas, but not in the immediate area, since the early 1900's.

I just wrote a review and thought I sent it.
Anyway, us "menfolk" must be alike. In 1985 or '86 living in Egg Harbor Twsp outside of Atlantic City, we had hurricane gloria barreling towards us. I refused to leave my house and my wife reluctantly remained. The hurricane went easterly leaving us with bits bands of rain. I remember not being happy!
Thank you Barbara.
Cheers,
John

Aww A very heartwarming story again. This is an excellent story and your supportive photo presentation couldn't be cuter! It tells a story of how men and women react to such things like tornadoes. I get it. I once ran down the basement with a dog and cat while my husband said it's not going to bother us a tornado. It didn't but like be prepared. Maybe it's our teacher keep kids safe training. Good colorful descriptions too. I enjoyed reading and reviewing this.
Best wishes,
Alex :)

Barbara, This is a very nice post about your visit with Andrew, Katie and the girls. I could totally understand how you feel about your son and wondering who raised him. Our twin sons are nothing like our oldest son, who is by my first marriage. When I hear that severe weather is headed toward us I pray. Jonathon got a storm shelter and they go as fast as they can down into it. I can't stand the thought of going down those steps. I would feel like I am smothering! Thanks for sharing my friend!

This was a great memory to share, and you told the story well.
I would add a comma after "Toward late afternoon" in the fourth paragraph.
As always, thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.
