Well, Barry, that is Trump in a nutshell. A shortsighted bully who America voted for. Now we will all pay the price in one way or another. Thanks for sharing this poem with us. All best, Ulla,:)))

Ulla,
Thanks for your review. A bully and shortsighted for sure. A dangerous combination but with him there is more. Totally self-interested and to be great you must have plenty of money.
Anyway, take care and have a wonderful day.

Barry

Amen Amen and Amen to that! I am so sick of political catch phrases that excite the follower with no explanation of what is actually happening that will impact the life around them, thanks for sharing.

You know, I spent 20 years in that industry, and in no way have I ever seen a company try to run roughshod over our environment. The ignorance is within the community that doesn't fully understand the guidelines and limitations put upon that industry by ALL governments. From the EPA down to the local Environmental Agencies, the rules are being followed. One or two mavericks do not condemn an entire industry. When caught, they are fined and the cleanup is monitored and expensive, very expensive. Those people are likely to never be allowed to ever spud another hole. By the way, that huge flame in your picture is one of the protections, can you even guess why? This is a good poem. Keep writing.

Eean,
Thanks for the review. I appreciate your information and accept that industry follows all the guidelines. Trump however, appears to be clearly intent on wiping out any person or authority that will restrict his "plan". Anyway, let us hope it will not become a complet free for all.
Take care and have a great day.
Oh, and I do not know why the flame is a protection. Geet back to me if you like.

Oh, you have the right to your opinion. God Bless.

Six of one; half dozen of another. Green doesn't come without environmental costs neither.
additionally, given thought to the petro-chemical industry where would the world be today without its ingenuity.

Tom,
Thanks for your review. Good questions you pose, and I accept it has
provided some wonderful things but many feel it is no longer the way to go.
Take care and have a wonderful day.

I was watching the faces of Biden and the others, not a smile anywhere. I'm afraid the state of our planet just doesn't seem to hit Trump. The dangers that come from drilling for more oil is going to worsen things. It will put money in their pockets, but if everyone who believes in the climate change were to boycott oil, then perhaps it will hit home then. Well done on pointing out the dangers, Barry. :) Sandra xx

Sandra,
Thanks for your review. Yes, you never seem to see many smiles around Trump except for Elon and crew. A bumpy time for the world over the next 4 years. Take care and have a wonderful day.

I can only agree all the way, Barry! I was certainly shocked here in the UK especially given the fact that our government has only last year enacted a ban on new North Sea drilling licenses. But it's all about the present with Trump and not the long-term harm. And this call makes him sound macho and strong, like he's about to wage war on the rest of the world. Just like: Fight, fight, fight! Your monorhymes enhance your fine verse with fluency and your theme of remembering our children at play makes this a very poignant read for me. Thanks for sharing. Warm wishes Debbie

Thanks so much Debbie for your comprehensive review. I am not impressed with Trump, and he does come across as wanting to fight the whole world. We can only pray that things settle down and get some sensible conversations going. Take care.

I'm a firm believer in life getting in the way when we're busy making plans. It won't take much in this world for his eye to be off the ball....

I think the phrase is, "drill, baby, drill," but I get you. The thing is, we ARE drilling, more than ever before from what I've read. We are gathering so much oil that we sell it overseas.
But, for some reason, those words make us sound strong...powerful in some way. In the meantime, doing what is right for future generations is deemed weak.
I don't understand the country we live in any more. Power, position, greed, lust...
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Barry.

Pam,
Thanks for your review and also your advice as to the correct wording. I will change the Title asap to make it historically accurate.
I believe your country will be in for a rough ride over the next 4 years.
Take care.

Of course we need to be environmentally conscious, but we also need to rely less on foreign oil. There has to be a balance, l think we will find it. A great thought provoking poem. :)

Barry,
This is a great poem. The people who are drilling don't care about nothing except money. They don't care if they destroy the environment for generations to come.
Great work

Politics are affecting our society like never before. Today it is not uncommon for people to not talk with each other if they have different political views. I have a cousin who comes over to play cribbage almost every day. We have our different opinion on Trump but still are best of friends.

Thanks for the review. Yes, Trump makes me mad, and I get riled up enough to write a poem. My first for 2025. In any event, I hope you are well and that politics aside, we remain as email friends.
Keep well.
