-Good artwork and nice presentation.
-A well written poem with a good topic.
-A very good opening line.
-I agree with your second line about
"learning to love."
-A very good closing line that is also true,
and a good way to help children learn.
-A very good entry; good luck!

A strong truth in poetic form. I grew up with parents that hated each other more than they displayed love. I grew up thinking that I was the problem. My brothers didn't seem to notice.

Dear Don, I am so sorry for the way it was with your parents. I know it was the same with mine and yet I did see the loving times too.

Mystery poet, this is a fine poem and much needed message for today. So many young ones have lost their way and are angry. Our culture here in America is broken and the security andl love every child needs will be demanded or sought out frightful ways. I know that's not always the case but usually it is. Thank you for sharing. We need to keep this in focus and children our priority.
Sending you my best today as always and my best wishes in the contest.

Yeah. Somewhere we fell short of caring values; becoming tight in selfish desires of obtaining rather than sharing: destroys the touch of friendship. So these things: I do believe.

Excellent idea "they learn what we live
kids should learn to love, not hate
teach by example" but unfortunately is much easier to do harm than good.

Hi
This short poem reminds us that we need to remember to be good examples of how to love to our children. They learn by listening and watching.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Have a great rest of the day.

Do what I say, not what I do, never works for children. It's easier to follow the example adults set, rather than trying to do something you've never seen before. I agree with the message of your poem. Children mimic what they see and hear. Best wishes in the contest.

When I stayed with my wife, I did it because of the kids (4 boys), I felt they needed both of us there.
When I sacked the wife I did it because of the kids, I could honestly not justify staying and making them live with the constant destructive atmosphere with constant arguments.
However, I divorced my wife, not my children and we continued to parent them together, though apart.
They are all grown now, well-adjusted and hard-working.
The relationship between my ex and myself remains cordial and we still discuss things that affect any of the children and maintain a united approach.

Your words are so true. Most bullies learn their behavior from their parents. In most cases, you show love then they will. I like this poem. It is so needed now. Great job

A well taught valuable lesson to share with all children. This poem is like an affirmation hanging on the walls of home or school. You absolutely followed the 5-7-5 syllable writing prompt entry. Great job.
