Awwww, Debi, how sweet to bless her with this well-written poem of love. It's dedication is to a very special niece who seemed to know early on just what she wanted out of life, then went after it.

She and her beautiful family are so lucky to have you for an Auntie, just as Kylie is.

Much love,
Rhonda

This is very nicely written for an organization that does very good work with the fellowship of Christian athletes. I enjoyed reading it very much and I wish you the very best with all of your writing. May you have a wonderful Christmas and may God bless you. Also, may God bless FCAN May they have great success with all the athletes. Patricia.

Debi dear,
Thank you for sharing your personal connection and praise of FCA! Megan and John sound like the best couple and have a mutual heart for the athletes. Billy Graham is right too, the coach reaches many with their example and testimony for Christ.

I was more involved in my high school sorority as a member and the chaplain. I was also involved with Campus Crusade for Christ since I was saved via their ministry with a trac someone gave me. It was the first time I had ever heard the gospel. I was saved on the spot. I'd skipped class to read it. Oddly, I didn't get in trouble either. It was definitely a God thing. :))
Thank you for sharing this and drawing attention to the much needed work of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Love & Blessings Abundant to you and yours.

Hi Sally, I do enjoy hearing your story about how you came to the Lord and your faith. As much as it is the same, it is different. Some of these kids never had any knowledge in some pretty rough homes. So they never had a chance if it weren't for this program,

I thank you from the bottom of my heart. The comments meant the world to me. They are so kind and thoughtful of you. Thank you again.

I wa not aware of the FCA. It sounds like a wonderful organization to be involved in. Wishing Megan a happy and healthy birthday spent doing all the things she loves.

Hi Debi,
I like it when your birthday poem let us know you and your family betters.
You niece and your husband do a great good in teaching Christianity to their players and other teens. It seems like sports was their destiny from early years as was keeping and passing on their faith.
Keep writing and stay healthy..
Merry Christmas.
Joan

I don't think we have a Christian union of athletics, or at least I've never heard of one here, such a pity, I know there are Christian athletes that even compete internationally, I remember the South African test cricket team would openly pray before a day's play, test cricket is played over five days or less, if a result is reached. Beautifully written, your grandchild will remember this wonderful tribute, well done Debi, blessings Roy

Hi Debi,
I know there are many Christian athletes in the NFL. It's an extremely rough game, but when a player is badly injured, they gather together right there on the field to pray for him. I've seen it happen on TV on a Sunday afternoon. I haven't seen it in other sports, but professional football for sure. (By the way, my favorite team is Jacksonville Jaguars, mainly because I admire their quarterback. Trevor Lawrence was slammed in a game against the Texans on December 1st. He was down on the ground and suffered a concussion and shoulder injury that has kept him out of the action. His season is probably over. With a 3-11 season, the only thing the Jags are playing for now is a first round pick in the draft. Their 2024 season is dismal to say the least. Mac Jones is the backup quarterback. But Trevor Lawrence will likely undergo surgery on his left, non-throwing shoulder very soon.)
I enjoyed your poem for your niece, Megan, and the author notes, too! I bet she loved the poem.
Hugs,
Kimbob

Football truly is the number one for FCA too.
She did love it, and I think my brother loved it even more. He was a champ at all sports and almost played for the MN Twins. I can't remember what happened back then.
Thanks so very much for your kindness for her poem. Love, Debi

I very much liked reading this poem, and especially the author notes. Don McClanen and Megan's 'two football boys' seem to have proved that sports can be Christ-oriented in tone and practice.
I like this line in the poem:
Her character is love and peace
