This is really a cute picture, and your poem is perfect with it. We seniors have it made, or so it would seem. Of course, when you get up there you might spend the week going to funerals.

I get the meaning of this; I have been retired for so long that there are days where I have no idea what day it is and really don't care. It's holiday twenty-four seven.

No more work due dates and deadlines. The only thing I keep track of is doctor's appointments. I whole heartedly agree with the true thoughts expressed in your 20 syllable poem. Best wishes in the contest.

This is true because as seniors we don't really care what day it is we don't know what that is we don't care what it is. Probably we don't care what day it is because we don't know what day it is.

Debi, I have never heard of Hump Day! And have just been trying to find out. Is it the mid-week point, i.e. Wednesday? I think you might have to explain this one to me and my fellow Brits...maybe in some notes? Oh I think I get it now - the hump people have to get over to coast to the weekend. I like the sound of that and the visual is perfect! Good luck! Love Debbie

Hahahaaha,,Debbie, I am sorry, I guess I better put some notes in my post. I thought hump day was world wide. Yes, it is Wednesday because like you said it is the gateway to the weekend. I am glad you got it but do you think I should still put notes in the author's notes?
Thanks for the always thoughtful reviews, my sweet friend. Love, Debi

No wonder Wednesday is referred as Humps day. It's usually my most demanding day of the week. I am sure that seniors no longer remember the days of the week as every day would feel like weekend. Well done, dear Debi for your creative piece.

Cute! Thanks for your rhyming tercet with the joys of being a retiree. Actually, I'm going to be so sore tomorrow as I was cutting blackberry at a church friend's house. We seniors have more time for volunteering! It's on Tuesdays when we get our discounts everywhere. Lol.
Best wishes in the contest!

Haha, you are so right Helen, as we all still stay busy every day, but this was supposed to just be fun. I was saying that at least we no longer have to go to work. But good for you for volunteering. That is so rewarding. I try but right now I can barely walk so I just have a hard time keeping up at home.
But as my mom always said, it could be worse.
Just talked to Rhonda and they almost put Wayne on live support. He isn't doing too well. She asked me to write something so people would pray. She says he needs lots of prayers. So instead I am asking for prayers as she asked me to.
But thanks for the kind comments and for having a little fun with me with my hump day poem. I appreciate you so much. Love, Debi

That picture is great! It definitely made me laugh. I actually am glad sometimes when the weekend's done, because I do so much for church on the weekends. I can't say I have fun all week, but I do like your poem. Blessings. Carol

Hi Roy, and thanks for the kind comments for this poem.
I am writing a poem but thought I would tell you ahead of time so maybe you would pray for Rhonda's husband again, but this time he is really bad off. He had a stroke and is in bad shape. Thanks ahead of time, as I know you will.
Love, Debi
