Hi Rhonda, my apologies for this being so late. I was tutoring Andrew in college English all week and couldn't get caught up with anything.
I was so worried about this birthday, but then after all the lovely poems and stories that were written for me on my birthday, I thought how can you feel down when there are so many people showing love. So thank you again for that wonderful Alice type post. Thank you also for the six stars for this one.

Good for you for tutoring Andrew for his college English. Where were you when I was in college, lol? Okay, probably in college, too, and definitely not in Houston, but you get my point.
I'm so glad I was able to write that story. It inspired me to do more of the same. I used to on here all the time.

My friend, we both got to that place we needed to be to enter the next decade with a can-do spirit. For me, it took a good friend, who is 83 years old and still rides her horse, to essentially tell me to stop whining. It was like a slap in the face, but by the end of that day, I was in a place of acceptance.
Here's a question for us both: What am I going to do to make a difference in the next decade? For myself, my family, my community, the earth . . .
We're not done here yet, Debi. We still have a purpose.

Hi there sweetie, you know that is why I do the tribute poems for people because it is my way of giving back. For years my morning prayers have always had me asking God to let me be a blessing to everyone I was in contact that day, but during covid I hardly ever saw anyone. So He sent me to FanStory and I ended up being the one who felt blessed. Yet, I know that it feels good every time I see the smile through their words.
I love how you got your inspiration that day too. Looks like we both were cured.

A funny story, on of my cousins used to try to introduce me to her girlfriends. I was 21at the time, and my cousin was still in high school. I told her I had no interest in dating teeny boppers. When my wife and I started dating I was 28, I saw a photo of my wife and a girl I recognized as being a next door neighbor of my cousin. It turns out that my new girlfriend was a close friend of my cousin's. I was teased for many years afterward.

But I had a special birthday as I turned the decade, and I was so worried about this one. But then after all the lovely poems and stories that were written for me on my birthday, I thought how can you feel down when there are so many people showing love.

If you refuse to allow your mind and heart to become old and embittered, you will be forever young in the only way that counts. I know you are familiar with the term "Young at heart" I believe that is what they are talking about. Happy born day.
