A few days ago I saw the trailer of Gladiator2 .
Wild beasts used in the arena to entertain the public. Epic battle recreated
Sweat , blood, death and only for a few gladiators glory.

What a coincidence. Yes, it was a cruel form of entertainment.

This is a very well written storyboard and I enjoyed listening to it. You have described what it's like in a battle very well with your very descriptive words. Thank you so much for sharing.

A well-told story about the gladiators, probably if first century Roman arenas where such blood sports were common. Your last line was interesting. Referring to Christians martyred for their faithin an attempt to destroy Christianity? Interesting rhyme scheme, in the second and fifth lines only. Very best wishes for the contest.

Interesting coverage of the violent combat of the gladiators. What a scary sport but I guess we have bloody and violent shows and movies these days. I wondered what was meant by "the devil's enemy had to die." So was the devil the one who was the victor?

Thank you for your review. The 'devil's enemy' were the Christians who were killed for their religious beliefs.

Ah. Thanks for explaining.

This poem in five-line stanzas where lines 2 and 5 have an end rhyme tells the story of a battle to the death between gladiators. My favorite lines was this one: pending death with the plunge of the sword
I just like the way it reads, with the 'p' alliteration. Good luck in that contest; it ought to do well.

Sorry, out of sixes. This took me back to the gladiators. Superbly written, The tension rose in accord with the scene. I almost tasted the blood as I watched in the Arena. Graphic account of a Sunday afternoon spectacle. And I backed another loser, I thought the bad guy would win. Really superbly written, the tension built wonderfully. Much enjoyed.

Just like Gladiator, except in a mini-poetic form. Very well crafted, I like the different rhyme scheme than what we normally see on the site. A thrilling story too, with a climatic ending. Great entry.
