LOL! Have you been watching me? My problem is not so much forgetting why I came in a room, but getting distracted once I get in there. I go to the kitchen to make something to eat, see the dishes in the sink & wash them, empty the garbage, feed the cat, clean off the stove, then--all clean--I walk out without eating anything. Your poem expresses what happens to many of us, I'm sure. It's fun and funny and all too true! Thanks for sharing, Debi! Great job!

Excellent writing. You have penned an example of what so many go through. Always work on memories, it may be all we have left. Have a blessed weekend.

You've added a spark to my afternoon. This poem is lighthearted, humorous, and true. We've all experienced periodic forgetfulness because we're thinking about so many things. Fortunately, we're all exercising our brain by writing.

Huh? Oh yeah, now I remember! Your amusing post hits uncomfortably close to home. At 81, I am proud of my mental capabilities. Oh sure I do forget some things, but surprisingly they are few comparatively speaking. I did not really know about the relatability of writing being good for the memory, but it does make sense. Thank you for that.

This made me smile as I was reading it and I'm sure there are many, including me, who can relate to this. I hate it when I have something I want to say and then in the next five seconds it's gone and I can't remember it. It always comes back to me hours, or sometimes days later. An entertaining piece, I really enjoyed it.

Hello Debi. One of the great conundrums of getting older is, "Was I coming in this door or going out this door?" It appears to be much easier if you don't think about it. Quite funny. I laughed all the way through the poem just like was written about me. Good stuff!

It really is fun. It made me laugh as I've certainly gone through plenty of those moments. The structure, with the repetition of the refrain, is particularly effective and I like the little twist to the refrain in the last line. Well done.

LOL! I know the feeling. I feel your pain. I found a box of kitchen cellophane wrap in the refrigerator yesterday. OMG! But - now I have another story to submit. Thanks for a good laugh, Debi, and have a wonderful day. Frank

Yes, it's happening more and more. Not sure if my brain is ready to close the door. But being on Fanstory should help my faculties score. lol We're all in the same boat! Just don't want to lose my oars...
