I get a kick out of the name for this contest. I've read a few entries for it and the name 'alliteration' implies the words begin with the same sound but wait!!! It's actually an ABC contest. LOL I enjoyed reading and good luck with the contest.

Hi Barb, I know this is the kind of grandma you would be if the funds were there, right? Me too! Haha!
I can't thank you enough for the very kind words for my ABC poem. This was a lot of fun for my first time and I loved doing it. I do have to admit it was more of a challenge than I thought it would be though. LOL.
I thank you again, my dear friend.
Love, Debi

Olivia Newton-John, what a wonderful music video. Her voice is one of a kind when singing. Was Xanadu a movie? The poem is a reminder of what a grandma will do for their family.

A very good submission for the contest! Hope you do well! I always wonder how poets approach "X". Did you start with Xanadu and work your way backward? Just curious. I entered the contest, too, and I still don't know why it's called "alliteration".

LOL, no, Jim, I went from A - Z and I changed every letter's word many times except grandma. I knew it was going to be something about her. I tried to do it all in one sentence but had to do two. Yes, none of us knew why the alliteration was in it. It was an ABC poem and did not need to be complicated. haha! I will have to read yours. And I will do it before I do anything else today, as my screen time is so limited. I only get a few hours a day. So I will see you in a few. And no I didn't know I would use Xanadu, but nothing else worked and at least that means magical. So thanks for your fun comments. Love, Debi

Xanadu worked so well, I just wondered. Loved your entry!

Hi Debi,
This is a new format for you. It seems to give emphasis on the importance of each word and dead of this Grandma. She seems to work hard to give her love in new and exciting ways to her grandchildren.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Enjoy your weekend

Yes, Joan, you are absolutely right. I have never done one of these before.
I can't thank you enough for the very kind words for my ABC poem. I don't believe you probably meant the word dead in here but couldn't figure out what you were trying to say. Could you help me out. LOL.

Wasn't that nice of Mother Nature to give us all this lovely weather this weekend? I hope it doesn't get as bad as they say it will. At least for our area west of Buffalo is supposed to be bad. Please stay safe, dear friend.

You're welcome, Debi.
Dead was supposed to be deeds. Yes they are a whether they are a single word per letter or a sentence for each letter.

Very good, very hard to write and still maintain a constant narrative. I am happy to say you did this and did it well. Congratulations. I hope you do well in the competition.

Hi, Debi,
I love this poetic form. However, I know that if I were to write one, the words wouldn't flow like yours. I think I would awkwardly choose the words, and the sentence expressed wouldn't make sense.
But yours is great! Thank you for sharing and Good Luck in the contest,

Hahaha, dang, you didn't do too bad yourself. LOL, sure you used some of my words, but it didn't take you nearly as long as it did me. So not bad at all. I am truly impressed and flattered with your poem. Not bad for a stab in the dark. Hehe! Thank so much John, for the six stars too. I never expected to see one for this poem, but this one was a lot harder for me to make sense..
You are the best, dear lil brother. You truly are!! Lotsa love, Debi

Well I thought Xanadu zoo was tough to pass up? xylophone wouldn?t work unless I had a week to respond. The old brain was a bit slow. Haha

Thanks Sweetie! It took me the longest time to get it to make sense as I don't think I have ever done a poem and started with a and go thru the entire alphabet and use every letter in order to tell a story. This contest is quite a challenge so I did the best I could and I thank you for the awesome review.
Thanks again, my dear friend. Love, Debi

You did a great job on it (as always) love and blessings, Teri

Very clever use of the alphabet. It is never easy to tell a real story using the entire alphabet. One can cryptically tell a story, but it will not be as nice or that easily understood. Your story is understandable, readable, and enjoyable as well.

I've read a few of these alliteration body count #2 posts, and of course, I don't know the first thing about them. But it's fun to follow along all you poet gurus on your quest for Xanadu or wherever else you might be wanting to go. LOL. Thanks for sharing.
