Oh, Wendy. This is so deeply disturbing. I'm so sorry. How awful for all of you. There's no excuse for DOCS to be so dismissive and blatantly disingenuous regarding the care of someone who really needs to be looked after, not just dumped in a facility surrounded by God knows what. You absolutely did the right thing by every moral measure, although I imagine there may be consequences further down the track ...

Of course, I am smiling ear to ear...rooting you on as you the "Knight in Armor" charge in to protect and defend.... because that's what good people do and you are one of the best. It's also why my son still lives with me...regardless of the difficulties. Others don't seem to really care...They work like machines. Something you most definitely are not! Jonathan was blessed when he came to your home!

What a horrifying situation and for such a vulnerable child. I'm afraid this is not a unique situation as I hear of horror stories about our youth and child services. Everything from neglect and falling through the cracks, to outright trafficking. Much of it seems to be the product of overworked workers, but there are lazy or evil people in there too. How wonderful of you to first of all take on a special needs child, and second of all, pursue him when this happened. Thank you for sharing this difficult story. Julie
