I have only been here for several weeks, so this was very helpful. There are areas of Fanstory that are difficult to navigate, or just aren't very intuitive. You cleared up several issues for me, thank you!
Typos:
"you want get many", should be won't
"and if agree", if you agree
I have to say I don't like how five stars is basically a default rating. If I get five stars on something I wrote, I want to know that I can be proud of it. But once I started looking around and seeing some very poor writing with five stars on it and no suggestions for improvement, I realized I couldn't really put any weight in my own five stars.

Thank you Julie. This site can be confusing and discouraging for new people. The rating system doesn't mean a lot but its been this way a while, so I pretend it doesn't matter and go with it. The best part is you get to know some really neat people who will become your friends and be there if your need them. Thank for seeing my tifs.

Nice points and you are right, but to be here non-stop requires lots of time, which sometimes I don't have that's why is hard for me to keep up with writing and reviewing all the times.
This rating does not count towards story rating or author rank.
The highest and the lowest rating are not included in calculations.

Thank you Iza. I understand. Writing on this site is extremely time consuming which is likely why so many on this site are older retired people with a lot of time on their hands. Keep writing when you cam find the time.

Hello, Beth,
I've been reading a number of advice articles this morning regarding how to navigate FanStory.
First of all, I am so relived you referred to newcomers as "new writers," rather than "newbies," which I find demeaning.
Secondly, the following paragraph really resonated with me:
You may go further up on the rating scale by the sheer volumn (volume) of the work you put out, which has nothing to do with the quality or length of your work, but personally I think it is better to be further down on the ratings and post work you can take pride in writing.
Wonderful and sound advice and also very perceptive.
Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for the excellent review. I didn't really promost this very high like I suggested since it is a part of a mulitple author book.
