Such balance berween the beauty of creation and man's defiant behavior to tarnish it
There seems to be a large number of Christ followers on Fanstory. I feel that his followers are sometimes partial to his teaching. It matters significantly what you emphasize in your last verse.
Maybe the right question to ask, what are the principles of goodness to be followed by the world's majority. Just a closing statement for discussion with an equally gifted intellectual and writer

Thank you for the compliment. We have been gifted with the power to make our own decisions; we have been cursed with the assured punishment of suffering the consequences of making the wrong choices.

You are so right Nomi, and your excellent poem is a challenge to all. The rhyme is smooth and the flow and metre are very well executed. Thank you for sharing your insightful thoughts.

Excellent two line verses that are smooth in poetic form and rhyming of words. I like your theme of making use of whatever time we have left. "He did not design us to act this way" is a perfect line and so true. Your theme is a perfect beginning to the new year.

Hi there,
Thank you for sharing this wonderful poem about the wages of sin. I try to not think about the evil that exists ALL over today. As a Grammy, I find it hard to consider the difficult lives my grandchildren will have - I can only hope the seeds I've sown will grow and they will have Him to lead the way.

I agree with you totally. I have much concern for my great grandchildren as their parents are serving as the kind of examples, I feel they need.

Hi Norman,
It is true that there is too much hate in this world even though Jesus advised against it. It seems almost impossible to stop it once in starts.
You give good advice about using the time you have left to do the most good you can.
Keep writing and stay healthy.

I have every intention to do just that. A this point, I try to say something important as well as attempting to amuse from time to time as a smile at the proper time can be healing.

You are so right about smile and/or laughter.

I try very hard, especially now that I have fewer days left, to make each one count. Even if I'm just sitting with my cat and enjoying a beautiful afternoon in the sun, if it brings me joy, then I'm not squandering it.

I understand there is a time for helping others, as well. But that can be balanced with quiet reflection.

I enjoyed reading your rhyming poem - wise words.

I have adopted for myself the creed similar to medical doctors, try not to do any harm. There are may ways to cause others harm; Wreckless operation of an automobile, awful words that harm a person's sense of importance, with holding love and admiration from a child desperately in need of comfort and love. My vow is to never as much as it is possible, ever be found guilty of any of these things.

Perfect artwork to accompany your thoughtful poem and your message full of wisdom for all today. Our world could use more of your wisdom today for tomorrow is promised to no one. Better make good use of the time we have left.

Well done..

Thank you Janet. It does my heart good to know that so many reviewers see things as I do. I think that if only more people in the world thought as we do and put those thoughts into action, the world just might turn out to be a livable, lovable, humane place to live.

Hi Naomi. How right you are. We need to make good use of whatever time is alloted to us. So much violence and grief is bestowed on so many. To me, religion shouldn't dictate nor decide whether to be good or bad. A good person will always be a good person whether religious or not. It comes from within.
I loved your poem. Ulla:)))

I loved your message, Nomi! And you're right - we need to "make good use of the time we have left" and no one knows how much that time is. Just like Moses said, "Teach us to number our days,
that we may gain a heart of wisdom." (Ps. 90:12)
Great poem to start out the day!

Your rhyming couplets read beautifully with wisdom, nearly live reading Proverbs. Yes, we never know the time of our death, so you advice is profound. I enjoyed the reminder today. Well said.
