What a wonderful way to help a child adjust to her new home. Leaving the old behind. But opening her heart and mind to new possibilities. A great lesson for us adults as well.

I like the picture.., It is hard for Molly to leave her house and move to a new house.
You have captioned the sentiment feelings of leaving some memorable things behind.
Parent's love is shown in this poem. Good job and thanks for sharing.

This is a lovely jolly little verse with sound syllable count and rhyme. I found it fun so am sure that children would. Your imagination and ability to get into a child's mind flood through the leaving part and your poem ends with a happy and satisfying outcome. Good luck in the contest. Debbie

This is precious, mystery poetess. I love the subject of moving to a new house and all that is; the nerves and the excitement. You told this from beginning to end as a children's story should be. Marvelous offering for the contest in alternate rhyming form. This story is a treasure for any child.
Sending you my best today as always, and my very best wishes for the upcoming contest.

This is a delightful children's rhyming poem that tells a story children would enjoy hearing. It would make a great children's picture book for very young children, and an easy reader for children learning to read. Your well chosen words flow smoothly with lots of description. Well done. Best wishes in the contest.

This shows how resilient little ones can be. This brought to mind when we sold the house where my children grew up. My grown daughter cried: "You can't sell it. I'll have no place to come home to anymore. It was bad enough when you cut down the tree Chris and I climbed so many times." (The tree was diseased. We had no choice.)

An excellent children's poem and it has a good theme to comfort and reassure children who are facing change. The rhyme and rhythm are well done and the language is very suitable for children. Best wishes for your entry.

Absolutely precious! What a wonderful poem with such a great theme and message. It was so much fun to read and I thank you for the pleasure!
My grandkids are mostly grown yet I would read this to the 10 & 11 year old in a heart beat. I just noticed that the contest was in vote now so I must go check it out.I wish you much luck as this truly is a winning poem. Thanks for the fun!

This is just lovely! So well written. I love the flow. It's a perfect little story in a poem. I can absolutely feel this little girl's sadness and then her excitement of being in a new place and beginning a new adventure.

Nicely done poem about moving from a child's POV. you captured the raw emotional intensity associated with a move, especially from a child's point of view. Well done.
