Thanks, Al. Have you read the other two P:atrick McKee poems?
Comment from BethShelby
This is hilarious with perfect rhyme and rhythm and it was great reading. I guess some might call it sacrilegious, but it is all in good fun and I'm sure God must have a sense of humor since he made so many funny people.

Thanks, Beth. I checked with God before I wrote this one. He said that as long as I wrote a few serious ones, He'd give me the green light on this one.

This is fantastic, the rhyming is on point and the story delightful. I love to think that someone has the Devil scratching his head on what to do....hilarious. I really enjoyed this creative entry and wish you luck in the contest. :)

This was great fun and reminded me of the old folk song about the devil and the feathery wife. You can hear Martin Carthy singing this on YouTube at:

Oh, what will they do with Patrick? I can't imagine God can have a shyster lawyer working up scams in Heaven. Hmmm.... perhaps they'll have to send him back to Earth. LOL Thanks for a fun read.

You did a wonderful job writing this poem for the rhyming contest, but how do you write such a long poem and do it so well? Lots of luck to you. Smile.

Thanks, Pookie. Those long ones take some time.
-
Yes, how long? That one is 88 lines! I appreciate your friendship.
-
I am usually writing more than one poem at a time. I would guess that it took a few weeks to get all the wrinkles out.
-
Please read my contest entries.
-
I try to read all yours. I'll fan you, so I'll be sure to see all of them.

Patrick seems interesting. What a fun tale you have narrated through this rhyming poem! The line: "But figured he should find out, what in Hell was going on" was my favourite.

Not yet....but will be reading them soon.
Comment from Gloria ....
This is a wonderfully rhymed and metred poem, Paul. And what a most humorous and fine tale you tell.
This Patrick McKee is a tough fellow if he is so capable of exasperating, Satan.
A most enjoyable read today and I wish you great luck with the Contest Committee. :))

I wonder if Patrick is a friend of yours or possibly based on yourself!
Anyway, it was a pleasure to come across your bouncy, humorous verse and meet your witty Satan, although I confess to being a little disappointed that I didn't get to read God's reply. Perhaps a sequel is in order.
Great rhyme and rhythm and brought a smile to my face.
I've just published a book of humorous verse myself. It is called Forty-Four Fabulous Funnies - and fourteen more for free and is available on Amazon. Hint, hint!
I hope to meet up with Patrick again...

Well, your Pat McKee made me chuckle on this Thanksgiving Day. I needed it because I couldn't be with family. It well written, well rhymed, and really amusing.
