Once again you did a good job describing the emotion of the situation. It's hard to be a teenager.

MARCIA:
(Slowly shaking her head)
No ... no, I've got to own up to being part of it. It's only now, when I look back at it, that I wish--
BARABARA:
Oh, Bull--Loney! We're not here to play the wishing game. (space needed between the two dialogues)

Oh... thank you. I thought I corrected all the spacing problems. I'll take care of it now. Thank you so much for the 6 stars and the glowing review.

Bravo, Jay! I love when my interest is so drawn into the story that I want to be part of the story - like I do with my own. I think I feel the emotions better when I read aloud. I'm probably just weird. It's great when you discover that each teenager remembered the night differently depending on how they saw it happening--nicely done!

Smiles and hugs, Carol

I'm so glad you picked up on that diversity of meaning according to point-of-view. That's what I was hoping for. And plays, like poetry, work better when read aloud. Thank you so much for the six-star bonus.

Wow, this was a great scene. There was a lot of innuendo jumping through the room at the start, and Barbara is really something else. She's playing on poor Phillip's embarrassment until Marcia takes pity on him.
What the girls did would have been very daring at that time, but in the end, nothing really happened. Or did something happen? We might never know, as in that moment they are interrupted by a new arrival. This is wonderful writing, Jay. Ulla:)))

Okay, so in the end nothing happened. Okay, I guess people could hold onto something like that for nine years.

This is written very well.

Thank you, Lance. I appreciate your words. Are you kidding, though. Nine years is a drop in the bucket. If it had happened to me, I'd be holding onto it for 65 years, and probably be writing a scene in a play about it at 82! And I would probably today, be frantically looking up their phone numbers.

Poor Phillip. And all those needy girls. They might have missed the romp of their lives, and unless Jay jumps in with a miracle, no one will ever know what they've missed. LOL. Unless, Marcia didn't miss a thing. Thanks for sharing another fun scene.

Haha! I'm glad you enjoyed it, Ric. As I think you can guess, it will take a decided turn next scene. Hope to see you here.

This is an interesting trip down memory lane from three different viewpoints. I think teenagers never see things objectively, and often wonder what triggers their development into reasoning adults. Age or experience?

That's a good question, Katherine. Age or experience. Teens in the 50s were a different breed from even the 60s. And their psychological transformation since the women's liberation movement, makes the 50s kids almost unrecognizable by today's kids.

Ohh, So he turned out to be gay!!!
You mention the Kinsey report and I remember it well it said that repressed feelings sometimes caused arousal in their clients. So, Phillip was aroused and ended up feeling sensual feelings for men instead of women who had betrayed him so many years before! I admit I read this post and every chapter of this novel because I like the sensation I feel!
It is fun to read and entertaining to the highest level of excitement!
Thanks for offering this chance to get aroused this early Sunday morning!
Take good care of yourself,
Jesse

Thank you, Jesse. If he was gay, he was certainly fighting the knowledge of it when he met with Barbara and Marcia. Things will be further explored next scene. Hope to see you here.

Your script is quite captivating! It kept my interest the entire way throughout the chapter. It does sound like something a group of teen girls might do as they are questioning and/or exploring their sexuality. It's such a difficult time in a teen's life.

Thank you, Patty. The fifties were pretty repressive. But that didn't mean natural urges didn't seek expression. Thanks for reading and for your kind words. Please come back again.

I have to give you a six star for this because it held my interests all the way to the end. You did a great job building a atmosphere to seduce us in and it turned out nothing happened in the end. Haha.

Exceptionally done. What's next now?

Well ... it wasn't from Barbara not trying! Thank you, Jasmine Girl! I appreciate your encouraging review and the lovely six stars. I'll be honored to have you aboard. The next scene should be a week from this evening.

SSSSSStupendous! Being confined for 4 days thus far on account of corona, I amused myself by reading the parts aloud. The dialog is brilliant and the suspense was gripping. SSSSSSuperb! Cheerssssss. LIZ
