A lovely free verse Diana where you've allowed your emotions your thoughts to flow.
Moving through the gloom into the light and leaving the negative behind. Lovely work, cheers

Your poem is presented in a great way. I like the color scheme, the image, and most of all the message. Your lines flow smoothly with well-thought out thoughts that are pertinent to the theme. Your conclusion is perfect. Yes, praying will defeat the negative--turn your thoughts to positive. Thanks for sharing. Respectfully, Jan

Hello, Diana,
You did a great job expressing how you feel when darkness overwhelmes you and only prayer helps you find peace.

I enjoyed this poem very much. It is drenched in sorrow, until it becomes a cry for the benefits of prayer. Apart from the calling to prayer, I particularly liked the image thrown up by:
"your life of gloom
... the head talk inside"

Very encouraging poem. It's very expressive as well as the picture, that you've chosen to accompany it. It's very wise as well. I love the song, that you've posted underneath it. I listened to it. I had never heard that song before. Thank you for creating this work. :)

A very well-written poem about darkness and fear that overtakes us and control us until we find time to pray and regain our light and faith to overwhelm darkness and fear.

This poem, Thankful, brings the idea of light in the darkness. No one left in the dark or lost in the shadows. Prayer can make a difference.

Prayer is always a good thing to work on! I like this line best:
when your soul sinks below
That has some nice, subtle 's' alliteration with soul, sinks, and also some long 'o' assonance with soul, below. Nice share on a free verse.

Wow. You blow me away with this beautiful, positive poem. I think if I were in a dark place, which rarely happens, I would be able to receive this message and be encouraged. You probably will never know who you may touch with a work like this. Thanks for sharing. Bless you.

No problem, I'm way behind, too. In the middle of a move. You know I love your work :) Take care, Marcia

Very interesting take on the power and voice of the prayer when the darkness is trying to take over. Problem and solution, question and answered.
"What do you do
when darkness surrounds
when your soul sinks below
"you take to praying
a negative thought cannot reside
where a positive thought is in control."
