Christine, You have written a very good poem stating that you do not really like free style. You used very good descriptive words and very good imagery with the art work. It depends on what day you ask me what style I like. I just like to write as I feel to write. I like words that make sense to me too. Great job! Blessings, teri

Hi Teri Thank you for stopping by to read my poem and I do enjoy some free style if it is written well and makes sense ai think that is the key the reader should be able to enjoy the work without scratching ones head wondering what it was supposed to say. Gove me a good rhyme most days Cheers Christine

This was so enjoyable to read, Christine. It addressed a concern I am sure of many, and that being the type of poetry one decides to write. I am sure each of the various types have merit but I guess I am from the old school and expect a rhyme. I will admit and agree, as you did to doing both but having a preference and for me that is a rhyme. I do so thank you for sharing this, it was well done.

Hi Ary, Thank you for reading my poem I was a little hesitant putting this one on incase it offended the free style writers but I am sure they will see my tongue in cheek effort I hope so. i do like rhyme best though Cheers Christine

I'm partial to rhyme and meter, too, but good free verse is more than writing random thoughts. It has a form of its own. Good free verse is hard to write.
I enjoyed this light-hearted poem, and no one should take offense.

Hi Yvonne, Thank you and Yes a good free verse would be hard to write and I have read a few that were so well written and made sense when read, but there are a few I have struggled through and could not fathom out the content. I think sometimes a good free verse borders on meter without a definite rhyme . Cheers Christine

But the good news is, the battle rages on and poets get the chance to write a fun poem like this. :)

Hi Gloria, Thank you Gloria, yes there will always be the battle and I like your description of writing just a stream of confused consciousness onto the page. A good description of not so good free verse. I have read some terrific free verse that has had so much meaning and well worded and sensible bit i still like rhymed meter in preference each to their own and hes it gave me a subject to write about Glad you enjoyed it Cheers Christine
