Love the poem and the font. What font is this maybe my book should be written in this font. It enhances the romantic aspect of this love write

Well, as long as you have hope you have something to hold on to, Missy.
It's been my experience that love is a sucker-puncher--one who blindsides you when you least expect it. Most often, if we look for love we won't find it. It has to find US, and it does so in the most unlikely of ways.
Good stuff...hang in there!

Yep, that was me. I'd pray and pray. I'm ready Lord! Why ? Then in a book by a Christian writer , the possible answer jumped off the page. Perhaps the person God had intended for YOU may not be ready. So I continued my wine, sharpened my pencils, got another notebook and waited. My person showed up when I was forty-four years old and after four years of dating we were married. (20 years together).
I told my best friend this and after many years of off and on again with this one man and many dates and relationships in between, she has finally settled down with the one man. Both in their sixties however he is just now ready.
So enjoy your wine, write, write, write, and be on the look out for the one who is ready. You can't two people apart when it is meant to be.

I'm still waiting for Miss Perfect to come knocking on my door, Missy, and in the meantime, I like a bottle, too, I MEAN a GLASS of wine to tide me over. ;-)
Excellent expression of loneliness and frustration.
Best wishes, Ray xx

Perhaps that special someone is on FanStory! You never know . . .
Love does indeed make the world go 'round. You know what they say--it happens when you least expect it.
Well done, Missy. Poignant and a bit sad, but well written.

A writer...mmmm. That would prolly throw a wrench in the mix. Writers as I am sure you can attest to, eat, sleep and dream their work. :)
Thanks hon for the and the encouragement, GLG.

I think I've found the problem, Missy. Now, I may be wrong, but perhaps it's because you haven't asked him yet.
I love the lingering sadness of your last two lines:
For now, all I have is this wine glass, my pen
And ... hope.

So many folks in this state of mind Missy! My problem is I found that one but lost them after a few years. No one will every bring that level of love to my heart again. So I seem to be content in memory. Beautifully crafted and certainly a relatable piece.
God bless young lady!

Same boat it seems, Steve. As I get older, I tell myself to forget it, but I can't. I am searching for hidden treasure, much like a pirate :)
Always,

Hello :)
What a beautiful poem! It is very genuine and honest. Certainly is something millions of people can relate too. I can. I think about it sometimes. For me, I found the love of my life, I thought we were going to grow old together and never part, but after 5 years of marriage, he left me for another woman. You did an awesome job. It is easy to understand and has a good rhythm. Well done!

Gypsy, it is how I feel sometimes. I can be in a crowded room and still feel alone.
I hate that happened to you. It has happened to me as well.
Thanks for understanding and leaving this review. We go on :)

Missy

I wonder if 'it' happens in these terms. Certainly not
as depicted on page, stage, or screen. We cannot compare ourselves with fiction, can we?
Live is something we try to live vigorously . . . while we wait for something to happen.
Peace, Lee
