what a sweet idea. If only all would feel this way. I have someone, who got mad at me and has not as yet forgiven. It's 2 1/2 yrs. now. Sad. Nicely written, Carolyn. Hugs. Miss Sally

What a pity you were too late for the contest, because this is a very nice entry. Good opposition between sweet, lovely and unkind with forgiveness resolving the difference between these two. Good alliteration of the f sound in the last line and the s sound in the first one.

Kind regards

Sarah

It is too bad you missed the contest. This seems to be an almost perfect 5-7-5. There is such a complex play of adversaries between line one and two and the two enemies are reconciled with the love that comes from the third.

Bravo!

I am not sure I understand what you love to hate, the fight or the forgiveness. Ah, they are the words hurled at you and you do the forgiving and hate both. Right.

Too late for the contest but still the author decided to share it. This already fulfills the purpose of the contest and that of the writer as well. That it was entered with the knowing that it will not win anything is also an opposite.

I see there is ambivalence in the lines. Whose sounds? whose words? The giver or the target? In anger, there is also dark delight in hurling unkind words.

And...forgiveness follows. For cursing or the forgiveness of a gracious cursed?

The sweet and lovely sounds; unkind words hurled in anger and the forgiveness that follows could hold true for both.

This is a very well-crafted piece of writing that the author has created with this poem. It is also very true. We can have a love-hate relationship, where the best part is the making up afterwards.

Carolyn, this is perfect in line and syllable count. The alliteration is an added bonus. It is full of truth and irony. Well done. :0 GracieAnn

Well done Carolyn, I don't often enter in these short verse poetry competitions, so good luck in this one! But this is great, because you've equeezed in some Godly wisdom, clever girl! I'm hoping you do well! Best of British, Roy

Thanks Roy, I was too late for the contest, we are traveling, but had seen it in the voting booth and found the thought interesting. So glad you liked it. That makes it a winner.

My friend, I am happy that you posted this anyway. I enjoyed reading it. I had to read your author's notes to understand where you were going with it. But afterwards, it is clear to me. I see your love and hate clearly. Very nice job. I thin this is excellent, my friend.

Always with respect,
