Hi Carolyn,
Your poem is very nice. I know when I die, my kids won't have the money to give me a funeral. I haven't been able to save any money towards it either, so if I'm cremated it's all right with me. I'll still be in heaven with God.

Many of us are changing our way of thinking. Our new bodies won't be like these old ones anyway. (thank goodness). Love you, Carolyn

Savior's blood - add apostrophe for possessive
good alliteration in blood bought and didn't die
spirit's dwelling place - add apostrophe for possessive
soul's salvation - add apostrophe
strong rhymes
extremely thoughtful message
both of my children and I wish to be cremated and we had their dad cremated as we realized he never would have wanted the fuss or the expense of traditional burial

Thank you Brooke, for this thoughtful review. The conversion of thinking is the hardest part of the process. I fixed the apostrophes. Smile
Have a great week,

I couldn't believe what your poem was about.
because those same thoughts ran through my mind last night. And I final agreed it doesn't matter.
When your gone your gone.

I have been thinking so much about this. We have attended many memorials in the past few years where there is no body to view, only an urn is displayed. Our spirit is with the Lord, it is how we have lived that matters in the long run.
Thanks you misscookie

You're very welcome, until next time.
Cookie. There is a poem I want to write on this but can't get it together yet.

I liked your phrase 'urnatively' .I was wondering what it is when the rest of the poem made it clear. We Hindus are familiar with cremation and the ashes are immersed in the ocean. The fire is supposed to purify -release from all sins.Very interesting subject. I did not know that there is cremation/V/ burial debate is going on.
Love ,take care.

For some reason part of the description (figuratively speaking) got to that line when I edited an apostrophe. It is now back to the original thought, (they call an Urn). I wasn't aware of your burial customs, thank you for sharing. In American culture we have been more inclined to burial of the body. As cost rise more and more families are turning to cremation for an alternative.
So good to hear from you Sanko

Hi Carolyn, this is a truly wonderful poem, you are of course quite right, it matters not that we a re buried or cremated, we are but a body, the soul has already wended it's way to heaven (hopefully), brilliant poem of couplets with great rhyming in between.

Dear Carolyn, I've always had leanings towards burial over cremation, and yet 3 of our parents were cremated, ( my mum's ashes are sitting in our wardrobe, awaiting assignment! But it can be a dilemma, it was important as to the consignment of Kings, and prophets! well written, I'm afraid I can't help you with this one, good couplet rhyming, but when it's all said and done, as long as we're with Him, the rest is rubbish. So well done, beautifully written, blessings, Roy.

I wrote in one of my other replies, that I had always thought I would be buried. In fact we own our plots. (But I have come to understand cremation is a good choice for many individuals)
I may have mentioned that Larry is a minister, it is amazing how many are going to the cremation, memorial service.
Thank you dear Ron for sharing your story. Until the judgment and we rise in our new bodies, it doesn't matter anyway.
Love, Carolyn

When you're dead, you're dead.
So get it into your head.
Except for dreamer's dreams,
and that is all it seems.
You may think there's a life thereafter, all evidence to the contrary. So I wish you the best of luck.

Thanks for reading and the comments. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen...

this is very well written, Carolyn, when I read the description line I was like Huh? but then I read the poem and got it. my uncle was cremated and the same day we had his service I got a tract saying cremation was an abomination. i will have to read the scripture you quoted in your notes. my mother and father's ashes will be mixed together and scattered on the river near their house.

Thanks for your wonderful comments. There are a lot of different thoughts about this. I debated how I wanted to approach the subject, this seems to be generating some thinking.

Hi there, I personally prefer the traditional funeral, but many are going to cremation due to cost. Like you said , the good part goes back to God, He will deal with us according to His word.
Love you dear lady,

Interesting way of presenting the truth of eternal life for the believer through the blood of Christ. I won't get too technical about how ashes speak when the spirit is in Heaven, but I will say that as our Lord rose in a real body, so shall we. 1 Corinthians 15:51
