Hi Carolyn,
Great contest poem, worth a 6 if ever there was one deserving.
You seem to have special talent for writing about nature.
I could see the little Missouri creek enlarge itself into a river and into a rushing mountain stream into a lake and wherever lake water runs into.
Your Friend,
Jerry

Dear Jerry,
Thank you so much for this glowing star. I am delighted you enjoyed Rivers. I do love nature and can't think of it without thinking of our great Creator.

I think the final stanza was my favorite. I especially liked the image of "creation's canvas". The reverent tone cannot be missed in this piece. The aa,bb rhyming scheme creates a rhythm to the sounds that when read aloud remind me of waves. Was that your intention? Very clever trick, if so. Nicely done. Thank you for sharing and good luck in the contest.

Thanks JB, I am glad you liked Rivers. I am not sure if I intended for the feel to be that of waves, but I had that sensation as well. Of waters lapping at the sides of the river. I appreciate the wonder sixer and the good luck wishes, it would be nice.... :-) Carolyn

sorry for no reviews lately, been away too long, and I have been focused on getting book two going. . now maybe I have momentum there, so, maybe back in the saddle?
I like waters collecting god's graciousness.
Well written piece

Larry and I take a lot of pictures. Writing, painting and photography are blessings from the Lord. I am so glad you enjoyed this one Cookie, I hope you, Madison and all your family are doing well. How is that new born doing?
Love,

What a blessing you both have and it's nice your sharing them to the world.
Madison is growing fast. I have not seen little Blake in awhile. I feel blessed to have seen him then.

As the river slowly meanders from the hills to the valley and sand onward to the sea, life giving water nourishes the plants and trees along the way.
The birds and animals frolicking are also provided for. God in His creations to be so beautiful and peaceful.
Along the rivers and lakes, we must have felt the calm and peace that the slow moving water gave to our hearts.
Excellent write and well pen.
Cheerio, hugs and love, bro Ritchie. :))

Hi Carolyn,
The weekend is just next door, so slow down a little, take a deep breath and look outside the window. My muse usually go the extra mile in reviews for my sisters and brothers and Godmas and the rest of my good gang here, lol.
Have a serene day and take a walk perhaps?
Smiles, Chheerio, bro Ritchie. :))

Dear Carolyn - This work has such a great thread connecting nature and the calm we explore from its beauty. I always feel restored too.
Nicely penned quatrains and solid rhyme.
A great submission and good luck in the contest.
Thanks for sharing.
Love

I like this quatrain poetry of the beauty of water in nature and especially how you recognize God's graciousness in his creation of the river of nature.

Thank you words...
Without the Creator, waters would not be in the picture, so to speak. I appreciate you kind words. :-) Carolyn

A wonderful spiritual poem that had a calming sense. This is a very beautiful poem with a picture to match. As with all of your poetry, I found this very enjoyable.

Hi Carolyn,
Your poem is nicely written. I like the picture you've used with it too. I've read it over several times and the first verse has nine syllables in all four lines. If you changed calms to calming the last line would have ten syllables.

This is a beautiful quatrain and a stunning entry to the contest. You touched me deeply with your eloquent expression of water and its soothing qualities. I feel much the same way, as if baptized anew every time I am in or around it. I wish you all the best in the judging and thank you so much for sharing this with me.
