Hi Steve :)
I loved this neatly rhymed acrostic Fairy Tale.
Really cleverly done, you missed nothing from the story and included a moral also!
My favourite line is 'As sniffing Giant Fee-Fie-Fummed'
Thanks for sharing it, I'll look through your portfolio for the others in the series.
Kindest regards as always, Debra :)

Thanks, Debra.
When I checked again there are now five in this series, some of them go back a little way....
Princess and the Pea, Little Red Riding Hood, Goldilocks and Boy who cried wolf are the earlier ones. I'm looking at assembling them into a (FanStory) book - at least they will all be together then.

Terrific rhymes and steady rhythm. You fit the Acrostic in there without hampering flow. Told the story well, besides. I enjoyed the read. Good luck in the contest, steve.

Fun! Well put together and generally nicely crafted. Not sure I approve of the word "smithereens", it seems inexact, but, in any case, this is quite a casual sounding piece of verse. Of course, I know it was more difficult to write than you make it seem!

I think I get what you mean about smithereens, but it's such a lovely word and suited the rhyme so well I was determined to use it - let's call it poetic licence. :o)

Superb entry for this unusual contest. Witty and well-rhymed with a bouncy beat, well-timed!
As usual, fresh inventive rhyming and a smattering of alliteration here and there accent and augment the musicality.
The most impressive line for phonetics is:
Heroically, Jack climbed the crop...
Superb alliteration and consonance of C and K sounds.
I enjoyed the pun on GIANT here:
Each meal-time led to giant strife.
Favorite rhyme pair:
As sniffing Giant Fee-Fie-Fummed,
Now in the oven, Jack's heart drummed.
LOL!
Entertaining and enjoyable.
Good luck

A series of children's stories is a good thing to do with acrosstics, in my opinion. I tried to make a statement with mine. I think you did well to get the whole story into a few lines... not easy. Good luck in the competition, Giddy

Good one, Steve! I've always thought that was a stupid kids's story. Jack did a really dumb thing, and in the end was rewarded for his stupidity. Not a good lesson for anyone.

Some of these stories are so old and have been meddled with so much over the centuries that any original point has been lost. I know Little Red originally came to a very sticky end to teach kids not to go chatting to wolves in the wood!

This one made me smile! All the best with the contest, Steve. As sniffing Giant Fee-Fie-Fummed,
Now in the oven, Jack's heart drummed.
Loved the "Fee-Fie -fumed" :)
I shall go to your profile and read Goldilocks and The boy who cried wolf..:)

Ha! I love this. So well done, the measure is perfect. You have great talent and told the whole story, which is a credit to your use of words. I plan to read this to my kids, if you don't mind. I look forward to checking out your other fairy tales as well. Thank you for writing this.
