Your well-written, comical, and SO-TRUE poem effectively expresses a contrast of the sick woman and the sick man.
I well remember that, no matter how sick my mother was, my daddy was sicker!

Hi Carolyn,

A lot of truth in your poem! Men, in general, tend to be big babies when they are sick. When they are sick, they generally let everyting come to a halt. Yet women on the other hand still carry on looking after children and household despite feeling under the weather.

Best wishes for the contest! This is a good one!

LOL. It's true. Men make a big deal at the least little flush. Women don't have time to get sick. Too busy tending to hubby. Been there, done that. Will continue to do so. Sigh...

I like the 'will continue to do so', so will I, and you know when we get inspired we just might exaggerate a wee bit. :-)Carolyn

Thank you very much notesandmore for sharing this highly reputable about Palm with fans, myself and other readers/writers. This respectable and credible poem shows quite a difference to a man and woman's feeling about the common cold. I seen it go both ways. Women go to work with a cold and women's will lie in bed and vice a versa. Very well written controversy. You have a good one and God bless.

This is really funny, and makes great use of this form. As I am a woman, I couldn't agree more. "Terminal illness" - perfect line. This should do well in this interesting contest.

It is interesting isn't it? I thought a little fun was in order as it is kind of a looney form. :-) Carolyn

Why is it ?
Woman gets a cold
Just sniffles
Man gets the same cold
Terminal illness

It isn't true, it's only perceived that way. They know how to seek sympathy whereas women have to much to do. LOL

Yahoo for the sympathy! I have a feeling you and I give it before it is asked for. LOL

Among my friends, they call it the man-flu. LOve it, that someone makes a poem about this. I think men would die if they had to go through a birth or even the monthly cycle.
~We might be the 'weaker vessel' when it comes to muscles, but not when it comes to everything else.
Thanks for that.

It has been well received for sure. I am standing strong on not letting my husband read it. :-)
