They tell me that they got involved in a game and didn't realize that the cleaning was being done...Now doesn't that sound like kids? They help everyone else but their Mom..she's super human they think...I think they should think again. Carol

This is a very well written, modern day Aesop's Fable. If you make a mess, stop and clean it up. Very good imagery and descriptive scheme.

My children will stop and help anyone, including strangers, but forget good ole mom most of the time...Guess I have spoiled them too much. Thanks for the review. Carol

Sad, but true. You're welcome, Carol. Charlie

I wish that would have worked for my kids. I guess I should have thought of it, but alas they're too old now. Great job, I really enjoyed the story.

Cute story. Yea, guess all us mothers could be called Goldie. I think the law should be whoever cooks the meal and cleans the house gets to get up from the table and go to bed for a nap. Perhaps I will sic the bears on my family at Xmas.

Yes it is not just bears that will take advantage
of the goodness of yourself and your house.
You do indeed have to be ever watchful that others
close to you are aware that you are not just a
mother and housekeeper...

Hello my dear friend...As of late, I feel like so many just take me for granted. I vow that I won't let it happen, but my heart lets it happen again and again. I guess I have no one to truly blame but my self. Thanks for reading my little story. Smiles to you always, Carol
-
Well, you always have a friend who will never take you for granted.

Very very cute. This is well written and I do understand that desire for help. We had 18 over for thanksgiving and by the grace of God they all pitched in and helped cleaned up. It took 20 minutes what would have taken my family alone 2 hours to do. I love the comparison to Goldilocks, the similarities are uncanny...maybe that is how it was created originally.

Carol my dear friend this is a delight, what a lovely way to start my day.
lessons learned we live in hope...lol.
Whilst we don't celebrate Thanksgiving in Australia we certainly do celebrate Christmas in a big way. And yes, i normally look around my decimated living room and wonder when all my guests discovered they had broken arms. Sigh.
I wouldn't change it for anything. sigh.
This is a delightful tale and i would love to read more in the genre from your talented pen.
Hugs and much love

I agree, I felt like the little Red Hen, who will help me make the turkey dinner. "Not I," came the response. "Who will help me eat the dinner?" All the males came running. After dinner they lounged on the floor in front of the TV, watched football and complained about being too full, while I got a workour cleaning the kitchen.. Males, gotta love them, cause if you didn't you would kill them.

Amen to that! I am glad that you enjoyed the story. I thought of you as I was writing it and wondered if your children at school might like it. Thanks for the great review. Carol

Yes, my little guys at school would love it.

Hullo Carol ....
I enjoyed your story very much, with reference to Goldilocks and the Three Bears but, even more, I enjoyed what you wrote in your Notes .... about all the guests leaving after Thanksgiving Day dinner without so much as an offer to help clear up. Such things remind me of an old English saying which my Mother used to remind us of
after our guests left ... "After the Lord Mayor's Banquet comes the Dirt Cart!"
Thank you for sharing this with us.
With love from .... Nanette Mary.
