Exceptional

Jim,
Debbie is also one of my favorite people on this sight.

Your poem majestically describes both her as an individual and her writing. It's no wonder she wins award after award.

Like you, I'm sad to see her go, but it's for good reason. And I wait for her return.

You penned an excellent poem for this wonderful person.

John

Thanks so much, John. She is one of a kind, and, like you, I can't wait for her return. She's had a big impact on a lot of people here.

Thanks very much for those 6 stars too.

What a wonderful poem to a person I have come to find invaluable as a critic. She gets a Reviewer award every month from me for her help. I didn't realize she was also taking a time out. You have written her a wonderful, heartfelt, going away poem. Wish I had six stars for this.

Thanks so much, Carol. Isn't she the best? She puts so much thought into her reviews, and she's so kind. And what a wonderful poet!

You got that right. Debbie has been a saint. She can spot a simple mistake in my writing at a glance. You would think I would feel bad when she dissects your effort, but I know where it all comes from. She is so sweet. None of our poems can do her justice. We all want her back. Good man. Good poem.

Thanks very much, Eean. She has such a kind way about her, that you never mind when she points out a mistake. You know she's only trying to help you improve.

Jim,

This is a great poem for Debbie. She is a good person who has always been so good to me. I hope her break will be short and she returns so.

You did a great job expressing your thoughts on the situation.

Well done

Cecilia

Thanks very much, Cecilia. Debbie is such a thorough and kind reviewer--so encouraging and someone who really gets what you're trying to say. And what a terrific poet too. She's the whole package.

This is a lovely tribute to Debbie, telling her all she has meant to you.
Beautifully rhymed with strong meter, I'm sure she will enjoy reading it.
You speak for many of us. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you very much Nancy. I wrote it with the same rhyme scheme and meter that Debbie uses in her weekly poems as part of the tribute to her. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Jim, with this lament, you've read my mind...Really, how can I respond in kind...These are all poignant things you say...By accident I got the chance to peruse them today...Reading your tribute, I can readily see what she meant to you...A glance at reviews from me, will show you I felt the same way too...I won't bemoan our loss any longer, Just know, my missing her is even stronger! teafor2

Wow, Jim, I'm overcome by this beautiful gift in its stunning presentation. And from the master because I have always loved your poetry (as well as your prose, of course) and have learnt so much from you. The best thing is that you are a story-teller and, if I can begin to mimic your achievements in poetry, then I'm a very happy writer. Thank you so much for entertaining me over the time I've been here with your lovely, memorable posts. Reviewing them has always been my pleasure. I'll certainly be missing you. Take care. Love Debbie.

I meant every word of this, Debbie. You are definitely my favorite person to discuss my stories with and writing in general. I always treasure your reviews, and I know I will miss your weekly poems, which are so beautifully researched and written. I don't think I've taught you all that much. You were a natural at rhyme and rhythm from the very start.

Take as much time off as you need, attend to yourself and family, and when you feel ready, come back to us. I'll look forward to the day.

    Love, Jim

What a lovely poem for our Debbie D'Arcy! We'll miss her. And you point out not only is she a fabulous poet, who does the extra research for her biographical subjects, she is also a wonderful reviewer!
