I enjoyed your story about your most recent cat adventures, particularly since one interesting feline has been a big part of my life for the last year. They each have unique personalities but I agree they are entertaining and all have a mischievous touch bordering on diabolical. My cat doesn't sing in Italian or any other language, but she does love slapping me in the face with that swinging tale and interrupting my sleep cycle, demanding attention in the middle of the night. I wish you'd write more. I miss your stories.

LOL, Slingshot is worth the price of admission. The new cats that came into your life are a great addition. A cat's full-time job is keeping humans humble. I've learned that over the years. An orange cat in the White House, now there is a visual. Good stuff. Terry.

I wish I had a six for this. I laughed myself silly. I have a cat that when she wants a snack, she takes a tiny bit out of my right elbow. Your cat problem sounds as interesting as mine. Time to go to bed. I have had my entertainment for the night. Looking forward to your next foray into humor.

Lee! I loved your post and your humor despite your state of sleep-deprivation! I don't think I was following you in those cat story years but I remember one story of cat feeding and another about washing the fitted sheet of a bed. That's when I started following you. Anyway, please don't watch the news when sleepless. Glad you got to see that part of California. Virtual six!

I loved your story it was both funny and relatable. We lived in the country for a while, I fed one cat next thing I know I have a porch full. Your story is well written very interesting thank you for sharing this with us.

I was reading all your remarks about how quirky cats are, we've owned 12 in all, and I remember every single one. Yes, and all their strangely different natures, animals, like humans, are all unique in their own way, but they make a difference anyway. If someone hates cats, (and some hate them with a passion) they are missing a lesson in how complex nature is. Beautifully Written, blessings Roy

What? I am out of six-star ratings. I never run out of six-star ratings. Is this some April Fool prank?
Well, consider this a six. You have made my day with your rambling cat tales. You have stared into that cat's eyes and it has made you more engaging than ever.
As the slave of two cats and the servant of a feral community myself, I know that there is depth in those cat eyes. I bet there are more odes to cats than to dogs because cats are inexplicable.
Glad to see your story. Glad you are heading home to rest.

Debbie! So glad to hear from you. I thought you left the building.
Granted, I've been very sporadic when it comes to posting. Music, because the way I play it is a team sport, is time-consuming. While it has been rewarding, it's also tiresome.
I seem to be able to drift into the worlds of dogs and cats without upsetting the thin fabric that separates us. It's like I know some secret handshake. Yeah, I'm in!
Who knows, one or two of your feral cats might share some DNA with those I served. Hey, you might be harboring Yankee cats!
Debbie, I'm glad you're still in the neighborhood. I hope we can chat again soon.

    Peace, Lee

Love chatting with you. I have just been overwhelmed lately. That's an understatement.

Oh, no not singing cat, not a three term president! I found your feline problems humorous and enjoyable, if not a bit frightening. My grand-cat, Max, agrees. He doesn't think, but he does talk sometimes. Evi

Ah, Mr. Hill!
How I've missed your delightful and engaging writing.
Just "what the doctor ordered" on this afternoon as we hunker down for another round of Mother Nature's wicked sense of humor = ice storm with anticipated 40mph - 50mph winds...
Yup.
"Spring" in northern Michigan.
But... back to your story:
Despite all of YOUR caterwauling, I know you have secretly enjoyed the company of Julius and Maneuver.
And you just couldn't resist giving "Donald" a few right jabs, eh?
Hoping you get the sleep from which your furry companions have deprived you.
Safe travels!

Thank you for a most entertaining read.
fondly,
Big Dog

The story held my interest from the start. Although a bit out laddish, the cat dominance of one's life is believable. Love the mention of the staying power of Slingshot over Lisa. Your afterthoughts after a scene lend amusement to the story. I doubt opera's future at the Kennedy Center under Trump. Oh, too, wait for the name change. I recommend this write to everyone but Trump and his sycophants.
