Wow! A powerful poem about a fox I have never heard of and it sounds like they are nearing extinction. That is such a shame. They are such cute animals too. Great photo to go with the poem too. Keep up the great work!

    Harry,

Thank you very much for the wonderful review. I had never heard of the Sierra Nevada fox either until I researched it. Hopefully there are conservation efforts in place to help them survive.

As our world closes in with mankind grabbing more and more of its share, life for these animals is dwindling away. It's so sad that we can't make room in the wild for all.

    Carol,

Thank you for the wonderful review. Like usual man's greed is driving so many of these animals to extinction. This particular fox is in need of saving now.

    Thank you my sweet friend

I love foxes! They're surprisingly quite large and are becoming more and more prevalent in urban areas. Thank you for covering this subject in verse. I wonder if 'conservationist' should be in the plural. Also, are you sure there are only 18-39 foxes in the wild?
Perhaps edits needed to: They are an opportunist hunted...?
and The(y) are considered...
Well done, Cecilia, on this informative post. Love Debbie

    Debbie,

Thank you for the wonderful review. I looked at several sights an 18-39 was the only number I could find. Thank you for pointing out my typos. I appreciate you.

It seems there's an awful lot of species. And this is another one, it's such a tragedy is it not? This is a great write Cecilia. I'm so happy that you are covering these precious animals. Beautifully written Cecilia blessings Roy

    Roy,

Thank you for the wonderful review. Yes, the more research I do the more animals I find on the list. It's a shame that man's greed is driving all these precious animals to extinction.

We have a lot of fed foxes in the country and in the towns and my Mother had a red fox visit her garden every night, she was scared of it. There habitat has been eroded and this is why they come into the villages to look for scraps of food, I enjoyed your nature post Cecilia, love Dolly x

    Dolly,

Thank you for the great review. I bet that was neat seeing the fox in her garden. If I would have been here I would have been scared also.

We have two living in my little country town right now. I see them dancing under the street lights every morning. They are beautiful and delicate. They don't scare here. Weird.

    Eean,

Thank you for the wonderful review. I would love to see foxes dance under the street light. Do you go out there and dance with them. If not you should, it's great exercise.

Cecilia, at first I had trouble spotting this beautiful earthtone colored animal against the similar tinted ground gravel...As cunning as any creature in the wild and man has still managed to shrink their numbers
significantly...This only further indicts man as the most dangerous predator in the world...Thanks for your continued poetical public service announcements. teafor2

Thank you for sharing about another beautiful animal and the need to watch out for them. Yes, we will do the best we can even though we don't fully understand their breeding problems. With the pandas, it's clear why but I don't know about the foxes, other than the habitat loss that you mentioned.

    Helen,

Thank you for the wonderful review. I'm not sure what their breeding problem is as I couldn't find any info on that. I know with habitat loss a lot of their food sources are disappearing with it.

Excellent, yes, here down under we had too many foxes, and they were hunted for their skins, we do not see as many now, they must be preserved for all generations to see and know about, it is too late for our
Tasmanian Tiger, very well written****kahpot

This is a delightful poem. You take some daring risks with subject matter and observations. I appreciate your details, such as: All you can do is keep trudging along
I think I would change Conservationist to the plural: Conservationists
We had a red fox run through our backyard last summer. I had not seen one in our area before, just down by the river bottom in the middle of our valley a few times.

    Crystie,

Thank you for the wonderful review and the suggestion. I will change that asap. I think when wild animals come into the neighborhood it's a little scary. I know around here it's because their natural habitats are being destroyed for housing.
