Jim,

This was a great chapter. It's starting to tie everything quite nicely. I am glad the ladies pulled together to help Fran. This has been an action packed story since the first chapter.

Well done my friend

Cecilia

Thank you very much, Cecilia. You've gotten the key words there--action packed. This story has a lot more of that than any of my previous ones and is exactly how I like to describe it.

Now, the next novel will be a real change of pace from this one. I hope you'll join me on that ride, my friend.

I really enjoyed this chapter! The back and forth between Fran and Lou was great - I could hear the dialogue playing out in my head. The reunion with Johnny was heartwarming. And you did a great job making that moment feel real. You wrapped things up so well while keeping me excited for the final chapter. Can't wait to see how it all ends!

So glad you enjoyed that exchange between Fran and Lou. I picture the actor J.K. Simmons in the role of Lou.

Thanks for your great comments, Michael. Only the epilogue left now, and we'll see how things stand 6 months later.

It's always interesting coming into a random chapter of a book, Jim, particularly one right at the end.
This chapter delivers a satisfying cooldown after the high-stakes chaos of the previous scenes. It's still sharp, but there's space to breathe now-time for emotion, healing, and some much-needed comfort food.
The use of the EpiPen and spacer feels grounded and real, and the attention to detail shows research and care.
The emotional beats are lovely: Johnny snuggling into Julia's arms, Brian and Julia's reunion, Fran's praise of Marie, and Dana's self-doubt gently countered by Fran's validation.
These moments make the characters feel more human-still capable of action-movie heroics, but with heart.
Fran's call with her FBI boss adds a touch of humour, and the final conversation with Dana wraps things up with warmth and a hint of future partnership.
The pacing's strong, the dialogue's natural, and it leaves the reader feeling like the storm has passed-even if the fallout is still to come.
Exhausting? Maybe. But also fun, heartfelt, and a strong payoff after all the tension.

You certainly nailed all of the highlights of this chapter, Tim. This was a very perceptive review, and you got everything I was trying to do in this denouement to an exhausting climax. Just the epilogue to go where we pick up the action 6 months later.

Thanks very much for this wonderful review. I hope you will join me in my next novel, which will be a big change of pace from this one.

Another excellent write, and it is good that Johnny is well and that the corruption of the pharmaceutical companies will be exposed. All is coming to an excellent conclusion.

Thanks very much, Wendy. Looks like the devil may have been beaten. Just the epilogue to go to wind things up 6 months later.

Poor Lou, lol! I imagine he goes between total frustration with and admiration for Fran.

Aha! Perhaps a new career path for Dana. With a little training, she would be a great agent - she already has the instincts for the job.

Lou doesn't want to hear this, but all's well that ends well.

See you on Sunday.

If you ever watched the TV show The Closer he reminds me of Brenda's boss, Will Pope, played by J.K. Simmons. Same sort of relationship that he had with Brenda who was like Fran in some ways.

I've never seen that show, but I love J.K. Simmons:-)
